Barchester maintains sector-leading reward package for employees

Barchester Healthcare has consistently raised levels of pay every year as part of our annual cycle, including a significant 7% payrise in 2022, recognising the challenges of the cost of living for our people.
As part of an ongoing review, we have made an exceptional pay increase for over 13,000 staff, the majority of employees working in our homes and hospitals, with immediate effect in October 2024. This increase of 10p per hour ensures all of our operational employees are earning at least 50p per hour more than the National Living Wage.
This won’t affect our annual pay review in 2025, and recognises the quality of our teams and the incredible work they do to care for our residents and patients. The pay award also forms part of the ongoing development of our broader reward, benefits and recognition package as we consider other opportunities to offer valuable and meaningful ways to reward our people.
