Enjoy a latte with Barchester for Macmillan Coffee Morning

Sharing a cup of tea or coffee with friends can be a wonderful way to spend a morning, but what if you could do that while raising money for a worthwhile cause? That's exactly what Macmillan looks to achieve with its annual record-breaking coffee morning.

What is Macmillan Coffee Morning?

Macmillan Cancer Support hosts its nationwide coffee morning every year and is the biggest event of its kind. It all started in 1990, with people gathering together to enjoy a cup of coffee and donate the price of their cuppa to charity. This small and simple idea was so effective that Macmillan decided to make it a national initiative and the coffee mornings have raised over £200 million for Macmillan cancer nurses.

How do I get involved?

This year's coffee morning is on Friday 28th September but it's not too late to get involved. People all over the UK are encouraged to host their own coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan. Simply sign up here and you'll receive a fundraising kit to help your event go as smoothly as possible. There's also a variety of posters and games to download and tips to ensure your coffee morning is a success.

How does Barchester support Macmillan?

Holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning is a great chance to connect with the local communities around our homes. Friends, families and visitors are invited to come along, have a chat and help us raise funds for a valuable cause. There's a real sense of achievement for everyone involved after the event and it's always exciting waiting to find out how much you've helped raise.

Why we do it

One in two of us will face cancer, and the money raised at Macmillan Coffee Mornings helps to make sure nobody has to experience it alone. The impact of cancer is felt by everyone but can be particularly damaging for elderly people. Whether a friend, relative, or partner, losing someone close to you through a disease like cancer can be devastating, so helping to ensure there are people there to support those affected is incredibly important to Barchester.
