Dementia author to speak at public event

Sally Magnusson is set to speak publicly about her new book on the experiences she went through as her mother suffered from dementia.

The broadcaster will head to the Sherwood Greenlaw Church in Paisley on March 31st to talk about what her and her sisters went through, according to the Daily Record.

Mamie Magnusson, who died from the disease in 2012, was also a journalist and was highly regarded within the profession.

She was married to Magnus Magnusson with whom she had five children.

The book, entitled Where Memories Go: Why Dementia Changes Everything, has already made it onto the Sunday Times Bestseller List.

Sally said: "Dementia is one of the greatest social, medical, economic, scientific, philosophical and moral challenges of our times.

"I am a reporter but, sadly, this became the biggest story of my life."

Tickets for the event will cost £3, but are redeemable against the purchase of the book which will be available on the night.
