Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Canmore Lodge Care Home
NESCAFE virtual tour
We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience.
We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.
To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.
Valentine's treats with Veg for Life
We had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Valentine’s-inspired virtual cookery demonstration. Chef Alex created some delicious Valentine’s Day-inspired vegetarian desserts, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.
First, our residents sampled a wonderful sticky toffee pudding, which was absolutely heavenly. Then they tried hazelnut truffles which were a huge hit and finally they were treated to a chocolate orange cake which everyone adored.
Handcrafted tree
How amazing is our hand crafted Christmas tree. Residents were delighted to receive such a thoughtful gift from Halbeath Nursery. Residents have been communicating with the children through pictures and cards. We are looking forward to seeing what the children have been up to this Christmas and look forward to such a time as being able to welcome them into the home.
Card designs
Our residents have been involved in fun-filled Christmas card making activities. We spent the day making, decorating and writing cards to loved ones, friends, staff members and members of the local community. Everyone was encouraged to work on their skills, some residents preferred to draw on their cards, others decided to use paints and embellishments.
Wreath making
Residents at Canmore Lodge have been busy with Christmas arts & crafts and have made indoor Christmas wreaths to display throughout the home.
Christmas decorations
In preparation for the upcoming Christmas festivities Santa’s little elves have been busy decorating our home with colourful themed ornaments, lights and baubles.
Our residents had fun creating the home’s Christmas displays and got involved in decorating the Christmas trees. Everyone had an amazing time and we are all looking forward to the holidays. We are loving our Christmas trees.
