Activities at Four Hills Care Home

Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.

We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.

The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

,

Halloween preparations in full swing

Our residents at Four Hills had a lovely afternoon carving pumpkins ready for Halloween.

They enjoyed reminiscing about Halloween when they were younger and had a good laugh about some of the things they dressed up as.

,

Live Music at Four Hills

We had a fun filled afternoon with a visit from Joe on the accordion.

He played some famous Scottish music where everyone sang along to and had a great time!

,

Wreath Demonstration

We enjoyed a visit from Jackie at Tigers Wreaths Boutique who performed a demonstration on how to make wreaths to our residents.

The residents thoroughly enjoyed the session and are going to attempt to make Christmas wreaths soon. Who knows they might turn out nearly as good!

,

Visit to Maryhill's Hub Tea Dance

Residents at Four Hills were invited to join the community at the Maryhill's Hub Tea Dance and we had a fabulous time!

This is a monthly event that Four Hills enjoy attending. Residents love meeting new people and keeping in touch with the local community.

,

World Animal Day

To mark World Animal Day, Four Hills were delighted to welcome Zoolab to the home for a fun filled afternoon.

They brought along a variety of animals and residents were able to touch and ask plenty of questions.

It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.

Supporting in the local community

We had the pleasure of visiting and presenting RE-Tune SCIO with a cheque for £1000 to help towards a new CNC wood carving machine.

It was great to visit David and the team to see the workshop in action and see first hand the fabulous things they create! A special thanks for our lovely Barchester board you kindly made for us.

RE-Tune SCIO was set up to teach fine woodworking within the stringed instrument construction and repair. The core element to this is to allow participants 'Time and Purpose' in an activity.

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.
