Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home
Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.
Caroline Evans
Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.
I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.
I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Science Saturday
On Saturday 24th August, we were joined by little visitors from Friend in Deed for a science session with a group called 'Mini Professors'. Little visitors and residents had a great time working together on science experiments and learning lots of new things!
We are very grateful to have such a good connection with Friend in Deed, and being part of many exciting events!

Summer Fête
On Saturday 3rd August, we celebrated Jamaican style with our themed summer fete. Amongst the many guests, stalls, candy floss, popcorn, ice cream, tombola raffle, coconut shy and limbo, you may well have spotted a few flamingos, even ones that you could catch in a hoop!
Residents, family members and guests were treated to a hog roast banquet with a tiki bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks treats all day! And, of course, not forgetting the stars of the show, 'Spangle' (an amazing steel pan band!), and a bird show from 'Majestic Falconry'.
A great day was had by all!
The Friendliest of Friendlies
On Tuesday 30th July, we were invited along to a Norwich vs. Atalanta friendly football game at Carrow Road. The event was sponsored by Aviva, who supplied tickets for our residents and little visitors from Friend in Deed. It was an amazing evening and the perfect opportunity for our residents to engage with our little visitors and strengthen their inter-generational friendships!
A huge thank you to Aviva and Friend in Deed for welcoming us to this wonderful event!
Teddy Bears Picnic
We were joined by little visitors from Friend in Deed for a Teddy bears picnic. We played fun parachute games with some delicious snacks and finished with a sing a long!! It was really nice to see people with smiling faces, thank you all for visiting!
Our Divisional Winner
Well done to Lee Sharpe, who was named as a Divisional Winner in the 'Dementia Care Champion' category for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards.
