Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Special Friendships

Every second Saturday of the month we have visits from a group called Friend Indeed. Residents are really enjoying forming beautiful friendships and doing activities with these little visitors. This very special activity is creating lots of happy faces on Saturday mornings!

Pantomime Trip

Pantomime Trip

Our local pantomime group showcased a production of 'Cinderella', and also celebrated their 50th anniversary. We took fourteen residents along to watch the show and invited some relatives to join us as well. They all had a fabulous time!

The group managed to raise an amazing £3,300 towards The Big C, Norfolk’s Cancer Charity. Here at Hethersett Hall, we like to support local charities and good causes, so we presented a cheque towards their collection.

Well done to Hethersett Pantomime Group on a fantastic show, and thank you to everyone who helped make this a very special trip for residents.

Burns Night

Burns Night

On Friday 25th January, residents and staff of Hethersett Hall all came together to celebrate the life of Robert Burns. We addressed the haggis by reading 'The Selkirk Grace' and listened to Scottish music, including 'Auld Lang Syne'. It was lovely to have the chance to share our own individual cultures and learn about others on this occasion.

January Open Day

January Open Day

Hethersett Hall hosted a variety of activities throughout the event, which included live entertainment by Paul and Jayne from Splash Duo, who were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

Little Elves visit Hethersett Hall

We had a very special visit from a group called Friend Indeed who brought in their children dressed as elves to make some crafts, sing Christmas songs and interact with our residents. It was such a special afternoon and residents had lots of cuddles!

Little Elves also visited people in their rooms, who smiled from cheek to cheek. We also donated to their food bank which we are very happy to do to support those who are less fortunate and promote kindness all around. Thank you so much to Friend Indeed for coming along to see our residents and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year!

Christmas Party

Residents, relatives, friends and staff all came together to celebrate Christmas with residents. We had another very special evening here at Hethersett Hall.

The party began with Christmas drinks and was followed by a superb performance from 'Misterfied'. He created so many amazing balloon models, which kept us all glued – especially the children that were visiting.

Afterwards, we moved to the dining room to enjoy a delicious buffet prepared and served by our two wonderful chefs.

A huge thank you also to Angela Adams Photography for capturing some beautiful photos that residents and loved ones can cherish.

The evening finished with yet another fantastic performance from 'Splash Duo, who got everybody in the Christmas spirit and singing along.

Thank you to everyone involved who helped make the party so very special for all.
