Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home
Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.
Caroline Evans
Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.
I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.
I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Life at Hethersett Hall Care Home
The Magic Table
We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.
The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!
You can read more about it on this page.
Village Open Gardens Day comes to Hethersett Hall
Hethersett Hall took part in the 2019 village Gardens Open Day. After a guided tour of the gardens, visitors spent time with residents on the veranda enjoying the beautiful weather along with refreshments made by our Chef, Tony.
Lots of visitors commented how beautiful the gardens looked which is a huge testament to the hard work of our gardening and maintenance teams. Our residents also have the chance to offer ideas and suggestions for what they would like to see at their regular “Friends of the Garden” meetings as we constantly improve the grounds at Hethersett Hall.
It was a pleasure for us to welcome the local community to showcase our beautiful gardens and enjoy the start of summer together.
Cupcake Day
On Thursday 13th June, we hosted an afternoon tea and staff dressed as their favourite Alice in Wonderland characters for Cupcake Day to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Throughout the day, we had a cake sale in our café lounge, displaying cakes that staff and relatives had made.
We were joined by some little visitors from Friend in Deed, and the residents enjoyed chatting with them and playing games.
It was a lovely afternoon with lots of tea and delicious cakes.
Butterflies galore at Hethersett Hall
At Hethersett Hall we were joined by Foteini Araka of Creative Mojo to create and paint some beautiful Butterflies to go on the “Tree of Celebration”. To celebrate Art within Care and National Care Home Open Day on the 28th of June, the Butterflies will be combined with others produced by thousands of residents around the UK and exhibited on a large tree installed by the National Trust! Our residents loved taking part in this wonderful project to represent our home as part of the greater care community. Thank you to Creative Mojo for giving our home and residents this amazing opportunity. What a special day!
Ann Egg-cellent Easter
Staff and residents had a wonderful Easter weekend with lots of activities and, of course, chocolate!
On Thursday 18th, residents attended a lovely Easter service and holy communion with Reverend Derek McClean. We also had a cake sale on throughout the day, which residents and relatives enjoyed in our café lounge. Our Head Chef, Donna, decorated an amazing cake that was sold within minutes! Residents also played lots of Easter games.
On Saturday, we were joined by lots of children from Friend in Deed for an egg hunt throughout the home. We had a great turn out and, luckily, the weather was beautiful. People sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine whilst playing games and eating ice lollies to cool us down after all the excitement!
We spent some time creating Easter bonnets and baskets with our Memory Lane residents on Easter Sunday, which brought a smile to their faces! We also had a very good start to our fundraising for Finbarr's Force and East Anglian Air Ambulance!
Thank you to everyone for your support in making Easter a special time for residents.
