Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Exercising the mind
Residents of Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View have been busy exercising their minds.
Residents enjoyed the group activity and feeling good as they exercised their minds and showing their cognitive skills as they separated the shapes before sitting back to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and slice of homemade cake.
Outdoor exercises
Residents enjoyed outdoor games and exercises using different materials. It was a very fun and rewarding afternoon, where the group connected and enjoyed of this summer day.
World Photography Day
We had a fantastic and fun filled day as we celebrated the “World Photography Day”. We used empty frames, different accessories to capture our photographs using the homes extensive grounds as the backdrop. We then settled back to enjoy refreshing ice-creams, it was a lot of fun, laughter and chatting throughout they day.
International Friendship Day
Our residents of the both units celebrated Friendship Day with drawings & painting remembering their friends, and with songs and dances too. They also tasted fresh fruit skewers dipped in chocolate. Some valued the friends they still have and also their loved ones.
Musical mystery tour
Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.
Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.
The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
Cheese & Wine afternoon
The residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon, savouring different cheeses as well as green olives, crackers, grapes and a glass of wine of their choice. We liven up the session with a quiz related to wines and cheeses.

What's going on in November? We'll be honouring Remembrance Day, celebrating our gents on International Men's Day, and welcoming our local primary school for some crafting.
Christmas Lantern Parade
We'll be joined by the wonderful St Helen's Church Choir for our parade, and there will be lots of festive refreshments available afterwards such as mince pies and mulled wine!

Come along as we're joined by advisors Fiona and Bev from OPAL GoOnLine Services as they talk through their experience of how best to be safe online.
