Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.

We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.

All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Graceland

Our home was transformed into Graceland to mark what would have been Elvis Presley’s 87th birthday today.

It is estimated that Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide so to honour the undisputed King of Rock & Roll, we all enjoyed a fantastic day of music, fun and dancing.

Our residents found out some interesting facts about Elvis that they haven’t heard before, watched a short biography about the famous singer and actor and listened to some of Elvis’s hits.

We all had a wonderful day.

A breath of fresh air

Residents enjoy their regular walks around the homes extensive grounds, they like the fresh air and to take in the winter scenery that surrounds them.

Christmas party

Residents enjoyed a fun-filled day as they hosted their annual Christmas party, celebrations began with a special festive lunch with their centrepieces the centre of attention. Santa's little helper made an appearance to give out the gifts, everyone was very excited and happy, most preferred to open their gift immediately and enjoyed it. Then they made a toast with sherry. The party continued with miming of Christmas things which entertained everyone, and a little singing and dancing too.

Festive games

Residents at Iddenshall enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Each day there are popular group activities bringing everyone together along with individual Resident centred activities.

Residents donned their festive hats to enjoy a fun filled afternoon with a friendly game of dominoes over a cup of tea and slice of Christmas cake.

Gingerbread House Day

We love any excuse to get creative so when we found out it was Gingerbread House Day on December 12, we didn’t need any persuading to get cracking.

Our Residents got busy decorating with icing, marshmallows, dolly mixtures and smarties to make some of the glitziest gingerbread houses in town.

The gingerbread houses look really lovely and they are indeed delicious - what a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Christmas Jumper Day

We are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumpers today in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.

Our residents have been encouraged to borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and raise awareness for children in need all around the world. We held our very own Christmas Jumper competition for the most festive!

Some of our residents have been very creative and decorated their own glitzy knitwear with tinsel, stars, baubles and snowflakes.

It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.
