Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Mother's Day
Residents at Barchester Healthcare’s Iddenshall care home, in Clotton, celebrated Mother’s Day with a fun-filled day of games, music, flowers and Skype calls with the family. The home was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and bunting for the occasion.
Staff at the home arranged more details of celebrations with flowers for every resident, afternoon tea, discussion about how the role of the mother has changed, reminiscences about the residents’ childhood.
International Women's Day
We celebrated Women's Day with a photo session highlighting our great women residents of this home “Iddenshall Hall”. It was an afternoon where we talked about important women in the UK and we were also talking about women's things as one of them said. It was also a moment of reflection and sharing experiences as a women.
Artistic flair
The Residents in Beeston View had a very productive and enjoyable morning today using their floristry skills to create beautiful spring flower arrangements which can be seen (and smelt!) all around the home.
A walk in the garden
We have taken advantage of the warmer days and enjoyed a walk around our extensive gardens. The residents fully enjoyed the sun and the natural environment of our green area. Some of them even stopped to talk with our gardener “Chris” while he pruned the branches of the cypresses. Others residents simply stopped to look at the blooming daffodils the sure sign that spring is just around the corner.
Residents learn about different cultures
Residents enjoyed a fun-filled morning as they got creative making Chinese crafts, writing and hats before trying on their finished design. They found the letters and drawings of this very different culture interesting and discussions around the countries architecture, traditions, beliefs and temples.
Chinese New Year
Residents of Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year as they brought in the ‘Year of the Ox; everyone got into the spirit of the theme with their home-made accessories, it was certainly a colourful display!
They read their horoscopes and were intrigued with the good luck predictions before enjoying the sounds of Chinese music and watching the Dragon dancing, the day was rounded off with a cherry toast and Chinese nibbles. It was a wonderful day!
