Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Summer Newsletter
The Magic Table
We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.
The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

Cupcake Day
Iddenshall Hall celebrated National Cupcake Day by decorating their own cupcakes. They spent the afternoon in the conservatory, making icing, chopping up cherries, apricots and marshmallows to put on top of the freshly baked cupcakes. Residents had their creative juices flowing and came up with some wonderful decorations for the cupcakes. The results were pleasing and everyone was able to sample the delicious treats.
Safari Park Trip
We took a trip to Knowsley Safari Park this week with residents from Iddenshall Hall. We were able to see different animals from all parts of the world. Despite the rain, the animals were still out, for us to see them. The highlight of our day was seeing the monkeys, who enjoyed using our minibus as a jungle gym.
Thanks for the Memory
We returned to the 'Thanks for the Memory' concert again this month,for the 6th year running. It is always an extremely enjoyable day filled with lots of singing and dancing and is a wonderful way for residents to reminisce.
Celebrating Cinema
As the red carpet is rolled out for Cannes this month, we thought it would be a lovely time to celebrate the world of cinema with residents and visitors whilst bringing some glitz and glamour into our home!

What's going on in November? We'll be honouring Remembrance Day, celebrating our gents on International Men's Day, and welcoming our local primary school for some crafting.
Christmas Lantern Parade
We'll be joined by the wonderful St Helen's Church Choir for our parade, and there will be lots of festive refreshments available afterwards such as mince pies and mulled wine!
