Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Valentine's Tea Party
We held a special afternoon tea party for Valentine’s Day this year at Iddenshall Hall. We served cupcakes that had been decorated by residents and then had a singalong, followed by some poetry reading, as well as a French lesson that was hosted by two residents who are fluent. It was an afternoon of relaxed interaction enjoyed by all who attended.
National Pizza Day
We celebrated National Pizza Day by making – you guessed it – pizzas! We used 10 inch bases and the residents were able to select which toppings they would like. The pizzas were then cooked and served for tea. Residents commented that it was a nice change of pace to eat something they had prepared themselves.
Sparring Session
Residents really enjoy their monthly visits from Andy who always hosts a 'boxing session' for residents to demonstrate their abilities. They're suprisingly strong!
Valentine's Preparations
For Valentine’s Day this year, residents decorated cupcakes. We were holding a special Valentine’s tea party the following day, so we wanted to make something special for the occasion.
We also arranged some flowers, so the home is now adorned with vases of blooms for everyone to enjoy.
Puzzle Fun
We always have a jigsaw out at Iddenshall Hall for residents to do as and when the mood takes them.
Cooking Demonstration
Our Chef, John, is continuing his monthly cooking demonstrations with the residents at Iddenshall Hall. This month, he made marzipan chicken. This was a practice run for when the residents help us create their own Easter cake in April. John showed them how to create the Chicken and they enthusiastically followed suit. There were some lovely creations made the residents were very proud of the final outcome.
