Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Easter Preparations
Residents at Iddenshall Hall have been helping create decorations for the tables to use over the Easter holiday. We have had a few craft sessions to make Easter cards and banners too. The decorations helped to brighten up the home for the rest of the festivities.
Kiddley Divey Returns
Kiddley Divey made their usual monthly visit to entertain us. Jess always brings plenty of props for residents, loved ones and staff to enjoy wearing or using whilst she's here. Her sessions are always good fun for all.
Waterworld Garden Centre
We paid a visit to Waterworld Garden Centre recently; it was our first visit there and residents enjoyed looking at all the exotic fish. Staff kindly let them hold some guinea pigs and they got to ask questions and learn some interesting facts about the animals.
Honouring the Academy
We celebrated the 89th year of the Academy Awards with our own awards ceremony at Iddenshall Hall.
We had a red carpet and a grand VIP entrance made, as well as Academy Award decor throughout the lounge, conservatory and entrance.
We wore our glad rags and staff dressed up as paparazzi to take pictures of residents making their grand entrances. There was Prosecco and Bucks Fizz available as refreshments, in addition to a full buffet tea with canapés and cakes.
We gave out our own awards for the Best Dressed, Best Hair, Most Contagious Laugh, Best Domino Player and Best Dressed Staff Member. We will present these trophies annually from now on to make it a regular event. It was an enjoyable and fun evening.
Lady Heyes
Residents of Iddenshall Hall paid a visit to Lady Heyes this month. It was lovely for them to look around the little shops and to enjoy a coffee and piece of cake in a new environment. It was a fairly nice day out, so we were able to take a stroll outside and enjoy the fresh air too.
Musical Moments
Iddenshall Hall had a visit from Musical Moments recently; it was the first visit from them and it went down very well.
Residents really enjoyed joining in with the dancing, singing and playing instruments.
