Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Claudia Canosa

Activities Lead

Claudia moved to the UK from her native South Africa with her family some 6 years ago, although her family are of Italian decent.

With a caring nature, Claudia worked for a domiciliary care company helping in people in the community before eventually working in a care home environment, working up to the role of Senior Carer.

Realising how much she enjoyed making the residents smile, Claudia has now stepped into the role of Activities Lead here at Kings Park and very much loves the interaction with our residents, who have all taken a real shine to her.

Claudia can regularly be seen with our residents in a very creative capacity, enjoying flower arranging or leading everyone in a game of good old fashioned Bingo!

When at home, Claudia is a mother to two boys and a girl and also a pet mum to the the gorgeous, Molly - a Jack Russell cross.

She loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa in front of a good rom/com, with:  The Holiday, The Lakehouse and The Notebook as some of her favourites to date.

We are so happy to have her as part of the Kings Park team.

West Moors Community Café a Great Success!

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the very first West Moors Community Café a bustling success!

Held at St Martins URC, in West Moors, it was lovely to welcome members of the community to join together to chat, laugh and make new friends.

This event, jointly run between Kings Park, St.Martins URC and Moors Manor Care Home, will reoccur on the last Wednesday of each month 10:30-12pm. So we will be back with free coffee, tea and cakes on the 28th September!

Kings Park Opens New Community Café

In partnership with St Martins URC, West Moors. and Moors Manor Care Home, we are holding our first West Moors Community Café tomorrow, 31st August at 10:30am in St. Martins, West Moors.

FREE for everyone and a fantastic opportunity to meet others in the local community, have a chat and enjoy a cuppa with a lovely piece of homemade cake.

No need to book and open to all ages!

Come along and join us - we look forward to meeting you!

Ahh....and relax!

What better way to while away a morning than with a lovely coffee at a café, watching the world go by!

Being well located in the heart of our local community, it’s fantastic to be able to accompany residents into Ferndown, just as they used to do before becoming a resident at Kings Park.

Pat really enjoyed her morning in the sun!

Poetry Club

“If you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - Carpe - hear it? – Carpe, Carpe Diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.” (Dead Poets Society)

Poetry Club is greatly enjoyed by us all and a good opportunity to listen to our favourite poems. Sometimes they make us laugh a lot, sometimes they bring a tear to our eyes and some make us question the meaning and emotions expressed. A lovely way to spend an afternoon with tea and cakes!

Life on the Road!

Lovely trip to Haskins Garden Centre today and our very own Head of Maintenance, Richard, was happy to be behind the wheel again on such a sunny day!

After a lovely cuppa and slice of cheesecake, we nearly brought two new residents home with us! These two gorgeous dachshunds were close to being smuggled on the minibus for the ride home!
