Autumn Season Flower Display

Our residents have selected these beautiful autumnal flowers from Floral Image in Bristol. They decided to give them pride of place in the Bistro, where they can enjoy them with a lovely brewed coffee and a homemade treat, cooked fresh daily by Head Chef Tony. Big thank you to Sean for delivering them.

International Chefs Day

We took time today, 20th October 2020, to applauded Chef Tony Jeanes and his team for the amazing job they do to keep our residents nourished with an exciting and varied daily menu.

Tony, along with assistants; Ian and Sajmon (pictured) are just a few of the overall kitchen staff celebrated today by the residents and staff on ‘International Chef’s Day’. In honour of this special day, Chef Tony and the team cooked up a trio of scrumptious Pavlovas topped with fresh berries, as requested by one of our residents this morning, to demonstrate their culinary skills before starting the day.

Kerry Hill, General Manager at Latimer Court said: “I’m delighted to have such a caring and talented team working together in our kitchens, they always take time to listen and learn about our residents dietary needs and look to produce flavoursome dishes using seasonal produce. Chef Tony has even offered to provide ‘cookery classes’ to groups within the local community, we’d ask you to keep an eye out on our Facebook page for future tutorial posts.” https://m.facebook.com/BarchesterLatimerCourt/

Arts, Crafts and Pampering

The Latimer residents have enjoyed various arts & crafts sessions this week. Knit and natter in the bistro, painting and magic water painting on memory lane. Some of our ladies were even treated to a mini-manicure and polish - beautiful!

Cookie Creations

Thanks Chef Tony!
Our residents from each community enjoyed a morning of decorating freshly baked cookies. From adding chocolate sprinkles to iced flowers, it was a true ‘sugar rush’ activity to get them ready for afternoon tea. The temptation to not eat them was all too much for some ...well nearly all of us!

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

On Saturday afternoon we picked fresh apples from the garden orchard, and worked together to make cinnamon and honey apple bowls. We had Harry Belafonte - Try to Remember “The kind of September” playing in the background; it was a special moment as we said goodbye to summer and hello ‘autumn’.
