Activities at Latimer Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Latimer Court Care Home

Cherry Lane Garden Centre
The residents had a lovely morning at the garden centre having a look around at the lovely items, and they also do clothing.
Household items and furniture as well as gardening furniture and plants. We all went into their lovely café and had hot drinks and cakes, which the residents were thrilled with.
It was a windy day and wrapped the residents up warm and stayed in doors in the garden centre. We're looking forward to more trips out.

Animal Mania
A lot of residents had been asking John from Animal Mania to visit with his animals. So we made sure to organise this!
We planned with John for him to visit, and the weather was on our side and we managed to sit outside whilst listening to John and his interesting talk about his animals. The residents held the animals that John brought with him, and we were told the animals' names.
John said they have names so that when he visits children with learning disabilities, it's easier for the children to remember. A lovely afternoon spent with John from Animal Mania and looking forward to his next visit.

Mother's Day
A lovely day spent with the ladies that live with us for Mother's Day. Balloons, bunting and flowers for the ladies which went down a treat.
We had Ruby to sing for the residents in the morning, singing lots of different songs which the residents enjoyed.

Gardening Club
The nice weather is upon us and residents have enjoyed going out in the garden for gardening club and refreshments.
Residents on the ground floor have their own patio areas and choose to look after their own garden with lovely flowers and sit out in the nice weather.
In the gardening club, we have high planters for the residents to join in with and assist with planting seeds ready for the summer. We have tidied the pots, hung baskets around the garden and can see flowers staring to come through. The residents are looking forward to going outside more and sitting in our lovely garden area.

St Patrick's Day
We had a great day celebrating St Patrick's Day!
We enjoyed traditional Irish music throughout the day and watched Virtual TV to see Ireland's fabulous countryside.
We also decorated cupcakes with green icing and sang Irish songs - everyone had such a lovely time!

Blankets
Blankets were kindly donated by St Nicholas Church of Warndon village. We work closely with the local community and church groups who join us at Latimer Court for coffee mornings on a Wednesday each week at reception from 11:30am to 12:45pm.
We invite anyone in to chat with our residents as they enjoy seeing people for chats and, if you would like to look around whilst you’re here to look at our lovely home, we also have our knitting club each week Friday afternoons 2:15pm to 4pm if we have any people from the community who like to chat and knit with our residents, let us know you will be attending.
