Activities at Latimer Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us.

St Patrick's Day

We had a great day celebrating St Patrick's Day!

We enjoyed traditional Irish music throughout the day and watched Virtual TV to see Ireland's fabulous countryside.

We also decorated cupcakes with green icing and sang Irish songs - everyone had such a lovely time!

Blankets

Blankets were kindly donated by St Nicholas Church of Warndon village. We work closely with the local community and church groups who join us at Latimer Court for coffee mornings on a Wednesday each week at reception from 11:30am to 12:45pm.

We invite anyone in to chat with our residents as they enjoy seeing people for chats and, if you would like to look around whilst you’re here to look at our lovely home, we also have our knitting club each week Friday afternoons 2:15pm to 4pm if we have any people from the community who like to chat and knit with our residents, let us know you will be attending.

Dunelm gifts!

At Christmas, we had the support of Dunelm and the community. Dunelm had a Christmas Tree in store and had cards for each resident on the tree for the community to purchase Christmas presents, which was greatly received by our residents.

In January and February, we did planned visits with residents back to Dunelm to say thank you to the staff, and we went into the café and had hot drinks and cakes and spoke to people in the café who were visiting on the day. We also had a look around the store and spoke to staff.

We bought a free-standing clock that the residents wanted in one of the lounges and household items for the residents to use on our Memory Lane units.

Garden Walks

Residents managed to go outside on Saturday 22nd Feb for a morning in the fresh air to walk around, have a look at the garden and discuss what new flowers and seeds we could look at planting in our lovely area where we spend time in the spring and summer tending to the plants we buy and plant in our lovely garden.

Already some of our residents' families have brought in seeds for us to plant.

Chinese New Year!

We had a themed event for Chinese New Year on the 29th Jan and the residents had a fab time tasting Chinese food and listening to Chinese oriental music and all had a laugh enjoying social time together hearing lots of facts to do with Chinese culture.

We had visitors join us on the day who had stayed with us previously in the home.

Flower Arranging

Flower Arranging A wonderful afternoon! We had fun creating beautiful flower designs, with our residents their family and friends. Some of our ladies love flower arranging, while a lot of our residents have never done it before, so we took the opportunity to get them some materials and see what kind of masterpieces they would like to pull together. We saw some beautiful arrangements, and found a hidden talent in some residents that they never knew of! A huge thank you to work experience placement students, Amelia and Lipna from Worcester for helping our residents with this activity.
