Activities at Latimer Court Care Home

Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us. You can take a look at some of our regular activities by clicking here.

Life at Latimer Court Care Home

Flower Arranging

The ladies who live with us here at Latimer Court enjoyed flower arranging this week and enjoy the activity once a month.

Doing this brings fond memories back tending to their gardens at home, and for some they used to do Flower Arranging for different occasions.

The smells of the flowers were lovely, naming the flowers was fun! Later that day, it was lovely to see the arranged flowers in the dining rooms on the tables when the residents were having lunch and dinner.

Cupcake

The Residents enjoyed decorating Cup Cakes and Gingerbread Men this week.

There was lots of fun and laughter and chatting, and the best part was eating the cupcakes and Gingerbread Men after the residents had finished decorating them, they were very yummy!

PAL Fitness

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.

Latimer Court Care Home in Darwin Avenue, Worcester recently presented PAL Fitness with a cheque for £2500.  PAL Fitness is based at Evesham Football club and has its own Velopark where all ages and abilities can ride bikes around the track, they have bikes available to put wheelchairs on and someone available to assist individuals riding the bikes.

Stan brook Abbey

Jenny, Mavis and Margaret chose for their Dream Come True wish to go for Afternoon Tea at Stan brook Abbey. It was lovely seeing them get ready in their lovely clothes. All three Ladies enjoyed the journey to Stan brook and had photos on arrival outside the Abbey in the nice weather

Frank Sinatra Tribute

We got to take Residents Pat and Jean to see the Frank Sinatra Tribute at Malvern Theatre as he was singing with the SYD Orchestra.

They both had a lovely time as Jean hadn’t been out for some time and was really happy that we made both their Dreams Come True as this is what we have been doing in the home for the residents who live with us.

Pat and Jean enjoyed it so much they can’t wait to go out again.

Phoenix Choir

Our residents here at Latimer Court love a sing song, so we were extremely grateful and excited that 'The Phoenix Choir' came to see us and have a sing along which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

The Phoenix Choir perform at Care homes, and other venues across the UK performing voluntarily and donate all their monies to Charities.

We are already warming up our vocals and looking forward to the next visit from this amazing choir!
