Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
We Love Live Music
Big THANKS to the charismatic cody Chris Ody for visiting our home yesterday and entertaining the residents with multiple feel-good songs! We all love to boogie and you certainly had everyone in fine voice, we look forward to seeing you again in July.
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
What a jubilicious weekend!
We'd like to send a big 'thank you' to all the friends, family and members of the local community who took time to visit and help our residents and staff celebrate the Queen's Platinum jubilee.
The residents and staff at Middletown Grange had a wonderful time in the gardens, with the amazing Saxman playing all the classics, and delicious BBQ food and homemade cakes for everyone to enjoy. We had a right royal party with lots of singing and dancing in honour of Queen Elizabeth II - 70 years reign.
We all adored watching the coverage of events from the palace and reminiscing on previous Jubilee's over the years; long may she reign over us 'God Save The Queen'.
Hailey Scarecrow Revealed
Our finished scarecrow hero "Margaret Thatcher" is proudly on display. The Iron Lady is No19 of 31 scarecrows dotted around Hailey Village, Witney.
Our residents choose 1979 as their significant year within the Queen's reign as it was when Margaret Thatcher become the first ever female Prime Minister.
Live Music from CODY
What a super ‘sing-a-long’ we had this morning with "Cody".
Our Residents really enjoy his visits, everyone joined in; it was smiles all round, lots of singing and dancing. Cody, as always took time to sing every resident (and staff) request!

Witney Scarecrow Trail Entry
Our residents and staff are so excited to have entered the Hailey Village Scarecrow Trial and Competition. This week we have been planning and designing our ‘Hero’.
The theme is too choose a Year from the Queen’s reign between 1952 - 2022 and highlight a significant event. After much deliberation between the residents a year has been selected and they have been merrily ‘stuffing’ this year’s significant figure in history with fresh straw all day!
Can you guess who it might be?
Our finished scarecrow hero will be just one of the 31 scarecrows dotted around the village of Hailey near Witney, Oxfordshire.
The Middletown Grange entry will be on display within the home’s garden, visible from the pathway from Saturday 28th May until 12th June. Please drop by and take a look, our scarecrow number on the trail is 19.
We’ll post a full image of ‘her’ location once the trial begins, we can’t wait to be part of the trial; when Hailey will be ‘alive’ with scarecrows, it’s going to be a wonderful sight for all to see over the Jubilee celebrations.
Winning entries will be released at 12 noon on Saturday 12th June on the #haileyfestival and #HaileyVillageOxfordshire Facebook pages.
Good Luck everyone. #WitneyCommunity #BarchesterTogether #lifeenrichment
Queen's Jubilee Preparations
Today we have started to decorate the home for the Jubilee Celebrations. We finished creating our bunting and crowns and together made another lovely display for the lounge. Residents were delighted to see the Queen and her Guards are joining us too. This has been promoting lots of conversations throughout the day.
