Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
Wimbledon Ready!
The Middletown Grange residents are Wimbledon ready!
We had a marvellous morning looking back over previous Wimbledon matches, from John McEnroe’s tantrums with Boris Becker, to the elegance of Virginia Wade and Sue Barker.
All before settling down in front of the TV screen to watch the opening of Wimbledon for this year with the obligatory; strawberries and cream, and of course some fizz!
Come on Andy Murray, we’re all routing for you.
Meet Our Manager Day
Our 'open day' event on Saturday went so well. We'd like to thank all those who attended, and took the time to chat with our home manager; Clem and the team. It was an absolute pleasure being able to showcase our beautiful home, and get to know you.
We were so fortunate with the weather; as the rhythmic tunes filled our gardens courtesy of Alan Hook and his Saxophone, our residents and guests enjoyed a boogie and the odd ice cream or two!
Unable to attend? If you would still like to visit our home and meet with Clem, please do give us a call on 01993 627002 to book a show round and have a chat about later life care for you, or your loved one.
Fiona Harrison Entertains
Thankfully the weather kept fine, and the storm clouds passed on Thursday for our residents outdoor performance from the wonderful Fiona Harrison - A Voice in a Million.
Beautiful Fiona arrived dressed in her vintage outfit, and sang songs from the 50s and 60s. Everyone enjoyed her performance; singing and dancing along from start to finish.
The day was made extra special for several of our residents, with their visiting family members arriving just as Fiona's show began. Pats' granddaughter, and great granddaughter joined in, with 'Tilly-Mae' thoroughly enjoying a bop on great nanny Pat’s knee!
Our residents had a marvellous time. Thank you Fiona for bringing such joy to the residents of Middletown Grange. https://www.facebook.com/100001423602790/videos/4194970190560393/
We have the homes 'Meet Our Manager' event on tomorrow, and will be joined by Mr Alan Hook with his smooth Saxophone playing, if you are considering later life care, please give Clem our home manager a call to book your visit and show round 0204 533 8957.
Middletown Grange Vegetable Patch
The Middletown vegetable patch is coming on nicely, our residents are looking after the little area so well, watering daily and making sure any weeds are removed. We're hoping for a bumper crop later in the year!
Our residents love getting out into the gardens, and we have several of areas for development. If you love gardening and would like to get involved with any of our resident garden projects, please drop Teri-Ann an email middletown.activities@barchester.com
Hair Dos and Hand Pampers
Teri-Ann treated our ladies to a little pamper session in the salon, with hair-sets, and curls followed by hand massages and nail polishing. Pat commented that her hair's not looked this good in month's!
All ready for a virtual visit to Royal Ascot's Ladies Day.
Fruity Friday Fun
Friday at Middletown Grange is always a 'Funday'. As part of Nutrition and Hydration week, we started the day with build-your-own Fresh Fruit Friday Kebab on all communities. Each resident had the opportunity to build their own kebab, choosing from a selection of chopped fruits. They all enjoyed playing... one for the stick, one for my mouth!
No Friday would be the same without good old Fish & Chips, it’s a tradition, and nutritious or not, depending on batter thickness and number of chips consumed... our residents just love them with plenty of salt and vinegar! Happy faces all round.
