Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

A Memorable Car Show at Middletown Grange
On a bright and breezy afternoon, Middletown Grange Care Home hosted a wonderful car show that brought together residents, staff, and relatives for a day full of nostalgia and joy. The star attractions were three stunning vehicles: a classic Bristol car from the 60s, a charming vintage Fiat, and a glossy red Jaguar that caught everyone's eye.
Residents like Elgin were especially thrilled-he was invited to sit behind the wheel of the Bristol, a moment that brought a big smile to his face as he reminisced about days gone by. Nearby, Lynn and John eagerly took turns sitting in the vintage Fiat and Jaguar, sharing stories with their fellow residents about road trips and family outings from their youth.
The atmosphere was lively and warm, as our relative ambassadors and volunteers joined the event, sharing fascinating stories about the restoration process of each car. They spoke passionately about the hard
work and care it took to bring these beautiful machines back to life, captivating the crowd with tales of polish, engine tuning, and patience.
Staff members helped everyone get comfortable and made sure no one missed a chance to sit in the cars or take a closer look. Relatives mingled with residents, creating a wonderful sense of community and connection.
By the end of the day, the care home was buzzing with happy conversations, laughter, and fond memories rekindled. The car show was more than just an event— it was a celebration of history, friendship, and the simple joy of sharing stories together.

Farewell to Village Hall Lunches
As we prepare to say farewell to 2025, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on the many lovely village lunches our residents have enjoyed over the years at the Hailey Village Hall.
Sadly, the end of 2025 also marks the end of the village lunch gatherings. We have truly treasured these occasions - sharing good company, delicious food, and special moments with the wider community.
The final lunch was one to remember - with the wonderful sounds of the Witney Town Band adding to the atmosphere and, as always, delicious food enjoyed by all.
A heartfelt thank you to Elpie and all the villagers who organised and supported these wonderful monthly lunches. Your warmth and generosity have meant so much to everyone at Middletown Grange Care Home.

What made the event truly special was the sense of togetherness. Alongside the residents, relatives and members of the local community joined in, making the garden a space full of chatter, connection, and shared joy. Staff worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was comfortable and able to take part, with residents in wheelchairs and those needing support equally included in the celebrations.
