Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
Macmillan Coffee Morning
We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised a total of £82 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done and thank you to everyone who donated!
Sponsored Walk
Residents and staff joined Cedar Court Care Home in Witney on a walk through the centre of town to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. All in all, we walked 1.9 miles and raised almost £300. This was quite the achievement for one resident, who managed to walk the whole 2 miles with a couple of breaks in-between.
Pet Therapy
Residents enjoyed a visit from some dogs on International Dog Day. Pets are a vital part of people’s lives and provide company and friendship for those we support.
A Farewell to Friends
We wished good luck to two of our much-loved and admired nurses, who worked with us for 10 years. We presented them with flowers, cake and a card. Staff and residents gathered round for a hearty farewell.
Getting Outdoors
Residents have been out and about enjoying a picnic at the local park for lunch and having a cup of tea and a chat in our lovely garden. Residents love their garden so much that they broke out into a rendition of 'Danny Boy', which really pleased one of our Irish residents, as he got to join in without much effort.
Pool Evening
We had a pool evening, which was fuelled by a pint and competitiveness. Both the residents and staff found it hard to not play a game, and we soon sorted the wheat from the chaff! Even people not playing were lulled into silence, just like a live match, as the players lined up their shots.
