Activities at Mill Court Care Home

Our residents recently welcomed the change of season with a joyful and artistic Autumn Painting Afternoon, celebrating the vibrant colours and cosy atmosphere of fall.

Gathering around tables filled with colourful leaves, brushes, and paints, our residents spent the afternoon creating beautiful autumn-inspired artwork. The session encouraged self-expression, creativity, and connection — all while sharing stories and laughter over cups of tea.

Love was in the air at our Care Home recently as one of our residents and his wife came together to celebrate a very special milestone — their 60th wedding anniversary.

They marked their diamond anniversary surrounded by family and friends. The celebration included a beautifully decorated cake, flowers, and a toast to their remarkable journey together.

Smiles, laughter, and a splash of colour filled the air during our recent pamper afternoon at Mill Court. Residents were treated to relaxing hand treatments and vibrant manicures, and the joy was unmistakeable!

We enjoyed a stroll through the village on a warm summers day, taking in the beautiful blossoms and vibrant berries that line our path. A stop at the local café for a refreshing drink was the perfect break before we headed back to Mill Court to enjoy some cocktails.

At Mill Court we know that creativity knows no age limit. In a heart-warming scene that captures community, expression and lifelong learning, our residents recently gathered for a relaxing afternoon of painting, bringing colour, conversation and connection to their day.

Our residents had a wonderful afternoon recently when a travelling animal farm came to visit. We welcomed a delightful selection of furry friends, including ferrets, rabbits, and guinea pigs, much to the delight of both our residents and staff.

The animals were gentle and friendly, and everyone had the opportunity to stroke, hold, and interact with them. Our residents enjoyed the calming presence of the animals and the joy they brought to the room.

Our residents have been enjoying a series of community outings that are designed to bring joy, connection, and a renewed sense of fun to their everyday lives.

The latest trip brought together residents, staff, and local community members for a lively day of activities that included games, laughter, and plenty of opportunities for intergenerational friendship.

Mill Court was recently transformed for a special Greek evening. We enjoyed a delightful dinner featuring authentic dishes like gyros, moussaka and Greek salad, all expertly prepared by our amazing chefs.

Residents at Mill Court frequently visit the local garden centres and every time of course treat themselves to some beautiful summer flowers. At the end they always make sure to enjoy a well deserved cup of tea and slice of cake.

Our residents were all smiles as they enjoyed a sunny day out at Birdworld, one of the UK’s largest bird parks, soaking in the sights and sounds of the feathered world.

Our residents were treated to a close-up look at stunning flamingos, elegant pelicans, and many other exotic and native birds in a beautifully maintained natural setting. The outing was part of Mill Court's ongoing commitment to promoting joyful, stimulating experiences for our residents.

Our residents recently enjoyed a memorable trip to RHS Garden Wisley, one of Surrey’s most beautiful and inspiring destinations.

The visit gave our residents the chance to spend time in nature, explore the colourful gardens, and take in the fresh air and peaceful surroundings.

We recently embarked on a heart-warming journey, using question cards to unlock cherished memories and reflect on a lifetime of experiences. It was truly insightful to see how much wisdom accumulates over the years.

We had yet another wonderful day celebrating a birthday at Mill Court! Surrounded by family, friends, and lots of laughter, it was truly a special occasion filled with love, smiles and of course, plenty of cake.

Our residents had a wonderful time at the Sunflower Cafe's community arts and crafts sessions. They decorated fans and even learned some of the historical "fan language" based on how you hold them. 

Residents from Mill Court care home in Shalford recently enjoyed a refreshing summer outing. With clear blue skies and warm sunshine, this trip provided a welcome opportunity for fresh air, conversation and connection with nature.

The panoramic views of Box Hill really were the perfect backdrop for the delicious picnic that everybody enjoyed. The weather truly delivered, making the visit to this amazing spot an unforgettable one.
