Activities at Mount House and Severn View

Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.

Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

Country and Western Day at Mount House

The Mount House  enjoyed our fabulous country and western themed day and all staff and residents dressed the part, who all looked amazing!

Our head chef, Liz, created a Country and Western menu, which went down a treat - thankyou Liz!

The amazing Tom Bryne performed classic Country and Western songs and everyone was up dancing and singing, it was lots of fun.

Throughout the day, we had different fun activities. such as Tin Can Alley, to The Wanted photo booth.

Great fun had by all and with lots of smiles all around.

Autumn afternoon tea

At the Mount House we enjoyed our weekly vintage tea afternoon with an autumn twist and we all enjoyed some very yummy cakes made by our chef.

The cakes and biscuits were decorated by our residents in our weekly bakery club earlier in the day, these were decorated with a small spooky twist to get us in the Halloween spirit!

We also had an extra guest visitor,  Pete our pumpkin headed scarecrow made by our residents in our arts and crafts session, he was very scary!

Pyjama Day

At The Mount House, residents decided to have a comfy cosy pyjama day as the weather has changed.

Now we're in autumn, we all decided to make a yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows which was delicious and all the residents enjoyed!

We drank the hot chocolate whilst watching Morcombe and Wise classics, we followed that with an afternoon of watching Lady in The Van with lots of sweety treats for everyone to enjoy.

Celebrating going digital!

The Mount House has had a very busy few weeks with going from using paper to using our new digital system ‘Enable’.

Today we are very proud to announce we are now live with our Digital Care Planning system, and are the second home to migrate to Enable, in our region of 12 homes within Shropshire and Wales.

We are celebrating in style with Bubbly and cake for all residents and staff and we are so excited for the new journey ahead.

We are looking forward to spending more time with our residents!
