Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.
Joyce Morgan
Hello I am Joyce the Activities Coordinator. I am new to the care sector having worked as a florist with my own business and I am loving this change of direction. I am committed to ensuring the residents have a varied activities programme as well celebrating events. I am following the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme of working with mind, body and soul. I do also love to dance with the residents when we have an entertainer in!

Life at Mount House and Severn View
Football Fans ready to Cheer on England
Some residents have taken their seats early to watch England play their semi final football match. They have their hats and flags ready to cheer and wave the team on. It is so lovely to enjoy sporting events such as Wimbledon and the football with friends and in good company.
Home-made Cakes by Steffi our Chef
Steffi is our chef, we all love her meals, cakes & brownies. These cupcakes were made in honour of England playing in their Semi final football match, they are themed red & white and taste delicious.
Iris Enjoys Playing her piano every Morning
People who choose to live in a care environment take with them a life-time of memories, skills, hobbies and interests. These should not stop when they move into a care home but be nurtured and supported. Iris loves playing her piano which moved in with her!
Craft Club
Residents on both communities at the Mount House and Severn View spent the morning making items for our Craft Club! Our craft sessions are always very enjoyable.
Virtual Cookery
Photographs show the residents enjoying the live virtual cookery demonstration, followed by the samples of the dishes prepared.
Delivering Spring Cards
We had a visit from a few lovely staff and children from Little Explorers Nursery. The children came to bring the residents some spring cards that they made, then came into the garden to wave to the residents through the window — smiles all round!
