Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.
Joyce Morgan
Hello I am Joyce the Activities Coordinator. I am new to the care sector having worked as a florist with my own business and I am loving this change of direction. I am committed to ensuring the residents have a varied activities programme as well celebrating events. I am following the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme of working with mind, body and soul. I do also love to dance with the residents when we have an entertainer in!

Life at Mount House and Severn View
Summer Reminiscence
Residents at Mount House & Severn View spent the afternoon reminiscing about summer holidays. Each were asked what their favourite holiday was, their favourite memories and what reminded them of a summer holiday. Some of the favourites were ice cream, fish & chips, arcades and the famous sticks of rock! The residents had a lovely afternoon reminiscing and having a giggle about the memories they’ve made!
Our Divisional Winner
Congratulations to Claire Anslow, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the 2020 Barchester Care Awards. Claire is a finalist in the Care Practitioner of the Year category, and has been invited to attend a virtual awards ceremony on 8th October, where she will find out if she has won overall.
Father's Day
On Sunday 21st June, all of our lovely gentleman were given Father's Day gifts and cards from all of us.
National Picnic Week
Our residents enjoyed a lovely time celebrating National Picnic Week with a twist; because it was very hot, we hosted an indoor picnic!
World Chocolate Day
On Tuesday 7th July, residents and staff at the Mount House & Severn View celebrated World Chocolate Day! Our Head Chef, Steffi, made a beautiful cake and a platter of sweet treats for all to enjoy!
Royal Ascot
On 17th June, our residents enjoyed a day of celebration. There was lots of champagne & strawberries, which went down a treat, as did the lovely cream cakes made by our amazing chefs and residents.
