Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Trip to Finkins

Residents enjoyed a lovely bus trip out to Finkin's restaurant to indulge in delicious tea and cakes using the voucher that was kindly donated by Rob Dixon.

Mr & Mrs T. were delighted to be able to go out together for the first time in many years, and we were thrilled to be able to make this happen for them

As always, team Finkins were incredible hosts and made us all feel so very welcome.

An enjoyable time was had by all and we can’t wait for our next trip out

Cliff's Birthday

There’s nothing we love more than a good ol' party at Newton House, and today didn’t disappoint…

We celebrated Sir Cliff Richard's birthday with live entertainment from the fabulous Steve Carmel, singing some of the rock star's most popular songs.

We even had our very own handmade Cliff masks, balloons and hats.

Getting Halloween Ready!

What a beautiful day for a bus trip out to pick our very pumpkins ready for Halloween

Residents had a fabulous time, from choosing their pumpkins, walking around the farm, conker picking, followed by a delicious hot drink and chat.

They enjoyed taking in the scenery whilst pouring their loose tea with the strainers.

Whilst having refreshments we sat and discussed how much they thought the pumpkins would cost:

Mr C said £4.50 for 3, Mrs T 45p, Mr D 40p and Mr B 47p. They were totally surprised at today’s cost of £4 per pumpkin

A wonderful morning had by all

This afternoon we shall be carving the pumpkins and enjoying some spooky Halloween arts & crafts

100 hours outside with Kesteven Rideability

A glorious day for a visit to see our wonderful friends and horses at Hough on the Hill

The sun was shining and the laughter was flowing whilst enjoying some delicious home baked cakes and refreshments.

Residents loved seeing the beautiful Rio and giving him lots of cuddles, and also had a surprise visit from Rudy the Labrador

Karen, Liz and the amazing Kesteven Rideability volunteers always make us feel exceptionally welcome and share with our residents a wealth of knowledge about the beautiful horses, and answer any questions that they have.

We are so grateful to them all and we are already looking forward to our next visit
