Activities at Queens Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Christmas lights at Queen's Court
This year’s Christmas light switch-on at Queen’s Court was a truly wonderful event. The lights were switched on by the Mayor of Merton, Martin Whelton. Everyone enjoyed a lovely afternoon with a live violin concert and delicious refreshments prepared by our Head Chef.
We were also pleased to welcome representatives from the local police, whom we would like to thank for their support. Most importantly, our residents had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the celebration.

Visits from Local Schools and Nurseries
We are always delighted to welcome visits from local schools and nurseries. Our residents truly enjoy spending time with the children, whether it’s through colouring activities, word searches, or even some gentle gymnastics!

Festive creativity
Christmastime is always a busy and creative period at Queens Court. We were delighted to begin our festive calendar with Christmas card making, an activity that our residents truly enjoyed.
Residents took great pleasure in expressing their creativity—some chose to design and make their own cards, while others preferred selecting from a wide range of ready-made cards. We ensured there was plenty of choice so everyone could find something they loved.
The activity not only encouraged creativity but also brought lots of smiles, conversation, and festive cheer. It was a wonderful way to start the Christmas season and spread love and joy to family and friends.

Magic table
Our residents absolutely love spending time with the Magic Table. They enjoy all the different games and activities, and many of them like simply sitting beside the table, watching the lights, interacting with the images, and having fun at their own pace.
The wide variety of choices means there is something for everyone. These activities bring many benefits, including: Stimulation of memory and imagination, gentle physical movement, social interaction, relaxation and emotional comfort, increased engagement.
It’s amazing to see how something so simple can create so much joy.

Reminiscence Time with Our Residents
We had such a lovely time taking a walk down memory lane with our residents!
Using cards from the 1950s and 60s, we sparked some amazing conversations—filled with laughter, stories, and memories.
It’s always fascinating to hear about the things they used at home back then… items and traditions many of us have never even heard of today! Such a heart-warming way to connect across generations.
