Activities at Queens Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Barchester's Charitable Foundation

A fantastic three weeks in which we raised over £1000 for the wonderful Barchester Foundation. Thank you all for your support of this wonderful initiative.

Our homemade cakes are ordered by our lovely community, families and friends, for which we thank you very much!

We also organised a cake sale at the local Holy Trinity Church, for which we would also like to thank you for the opportunity to organise.

A great two weeks.

Chair Yoga with Charlotte

Our Chair Yoga, which is regularly led by Charlotte, is loved by our residents!

Chair yoga offers numerous benefits for seniors, including improved flexibility, strength, balance, and reduced stress, while also promoting mental well-being and maintaining independence.

Chair Yoga, which has a beneficial effect on both physical and mental well-being, hour-long classes in which we exercise all parts of our muscles with relaxing music.

We invite everyone to our Chair Yoga so that they can try it!

Queens Court is Live on EnabLE!

It’s official – our journey from paper to digital support planning is complete! After past few weeks of dedication, teamwork, and hard work, we are thrilled to announce that we are now live on Enable.

This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible efforts of our nurses, managers, senior carers, and activities team. Their commitment to innovation and excellence has made this transition seamless, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

With EnabLE, we’re enhancing the quality of care, improving efficiency, and strengthening our relationships with our wonderful residents. This is a big step forward, and we’re excited for the positive impact it will have on our community.

Cycling Club

Our wonderful bike that we have had for 2 years is one of the most popular activities in Queens Court. The bike comes with a laptop that we plug into the TV. While pedalling, a person can visit a chosen corner of the world in over 1000 places.

A great form of physical and mental activity, residents cover an average of 3 km in one session, and at the same time visit new or favourite places that they know best, great fun full of humour when one of the residents says 'and here I did my shopping every day'.

Pop up restaurant for Chinese New Year

Our local neighbour, who loves to cook Chinese cuisine, for the second time at our Queens Court!

Our local community were invited to lunch and our residents and families were incredibly surprised at how wonderful everything tasted. The atmosphere was wonderful. Everyone talked and got to know each other better.

Thank you to all the guests for coming and Meg for preparing wonderful dishes!

Art Class!

Our resident, who is talented in many areas, really wanted to start painting again. She studied art but worked in a different field.

She really wanted to participate in individual classes so she could paint her portrait! Queens Court organised painting lessons with Irene Caboni who is an expert in this field.

After two and a half hours, a wonderful portrait was created! Our resident was incredibly grateful and happy for this wonderful time!
