Activities at Queens Court Care Home

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Senior Health and Fitness Day

Queens Court in Wimbledon got active for Senior Health and Fitness Day.

Residents participated in a variety of activities throughout the day designed for a wide range of physical abilities, including yoga, armchair exercises.

Created to inspire senior-friendly physical activity, the national day was launched to increase awareness of the importance of remaining active to maintain strong, healthy joints and muscles, and to encourage diet and lifestyle changes for an overall improvement to wellbeing, and illness prevention.

A special guest that day, Tshon Carnegie from Get Fit with Us, led a conversation about physical health and a variety of activities, and led a stretching exercise session for our residents.

The chef prepared delicious and healthy snacks for us. It was a very healthy Day!

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day.

They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

As part of the week, our carers  every day celebrated this week in a different way, with special stretching classes, afternoon tea in our local park, breakfast together, prizes and quizzes.

it was a great week that we will remember for a very long time.

National Nurses Day

A wonderful day for us and all the nurses where we celebrated their presence.

The ceremony lasted the whole day, starting with breakfast, then lunch and the main ceremony during which our nurses received certificates and gifts.

During the day, a special massage for all our nurses and guests invited that day.

Afternoon quiz where everyone had a great time, we would like to thank all the nurses again for their hard work and big hearts.

Art Therapy

Art therapy entails using creative art forms to help people cope with physical and mental stress through managing, understanding, and expressing their grief. Many research pieces point to the fact that while professional art therapy requires an art therapist, people can also benefit from going to regular art classes.

Queens Court provides regular art therapy conducted by a specialist and enthusiast in this field, Irene Caboni, whom our residents love and wait for every session, where they create amazing projects.
