Activities at Queens Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Life at Queens Court Care Home

Cycling Club
Our wonderful bike that we have had for 2 years is one of the most popular activities in Queens Court. The bike comes with a laptop that we plug into the TV. While pedalling, a person can visit a chosen corner of the world in over 1000 places.
A great form of physical and mental activity, residents cover an average of 3 km in one session, and at the same time visit new or favourite places that they know best, great fun full of humour when one of the residents says 'and here I did my shopping every day'.

Pop up restaurant for Chinese New Year
Our local neighbour, who loves to cook Chinese cuisine, for the second time at our Queens Court!
Our local community were invited to lunch and our residents and families were incredibly surprised at how wonderful everything tasted. The atmosphere was wonderful. Everyone talked and got to know each other better.
Thank you to all the guests for coming and Meg for preparing wonderful dishes!

Art Class!
Our resident, who is talented in many areas, really wanted to start painting again. She studied art but worked in a different field.
She really wanted to participate in individual classes so she could paint her portrait! Queens Court organised painting lessons with Irene Caboni who is an expert in this field.
After two and a half hours, a wonderful portrait was created! Our resident was incredibly grateful and happy for this wonderful time!

Monday Stretching
Monday stretching gymnastics, which has a great effect on the well-being of the residents.
Queens Court loves a healthy lifestyle, including exercises that are daily and, additionally, on Thursdays, Physiotherapy Class and on Wednesdays, Chair Yoga.

Activity Providers Week
It is National Activity Providers Week, and we would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful Life Enrichment team & our activities coordinator, Emilia for all the fun and laughter they bring to the home.
We are proud of the dedication and creativity they bring to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

Live Flute Concert
The residents and their families enjoyed the live concert!
Oli played beautifully on the flute. He performed music from the 70s, which our residents knew well. A wonderful afternoon that we will definitely repeat.
In Queens Court, live concerts are twice a month because we know how important music is for our residents.
