Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

Celebrating Amelia and Adrian

Our home has been celebrating the remarkable contributions of two young volunteers, Amelia and Adrian, who have brought endless smiles and joy to the residents.

Amelia, who is pursuing a diploma in Health and Social Care and aspires to become a social worker at King’s Lynn College, and Adrian, a student of architecture at De Montfort University who also does bank work, have fully embraced life at the care home. Their dedication and enthusiasm have made a significant impact on the residents, providing companionship and participating in various activities.

Residents, their relatives, and staff have all praised the positive energy and community spirit fostered by Amelia and Adrian.

U3A Arts and Crafts Club

We were pleased to welcome back our dear friends from the U3A Wisbech Arts and Crafts Club for another morning of creativity and social enjoyment.

This month, we were also joined by the wonderful Debbie from Gratitude 43, who participated in the artistic activities.

It was wonderful to see everyone engaging in a variety of creative mediums and enjoying each others company.

Memories and Mocktails

Our residents on Memory Lane participated in our Mocktails and Memories community event.

Our guests enjoyed a variety of delicious and refreshing mocktails (and cocktails) expertly mixed by Jane from our home activities team. Residents reminisced about past holidays to the seaside and shared memories of home with one another. The event was so popular and we can't wait to hold this on a regular basis.

Come Sing to Feel Good

Staff and residents at the home were treated to a fun-packed hour in the company of choir leader and vocal coach to the stars, Dan Cooper, who taught them to sing two feel-good songs to put a spring in their step: ‘Dancing Queen’ by Abba and ‘I wanna hold your hand’ by The Beatles.

In partnership with Biiah, Dan delivers regular singing events through their virtual platform which encourages people to sing for their wellbeing. A professional choir leader and vocal coach with over 10 years’ experience, Dan runs a successful choir; Love Soul Choir, and is co-director of a children’s group; Sound Pop Academy.

Residents Fashion Show Wish

Two of our residents have always had an eye for fashion our activities team arranged for Elizabeth and Alice to attended a fashion show at the Ferry Project Fashion Show.

In  evening our residents were treated to an evening out at The Queen Mary Centre in Wisbech at a fashion show  This was an outing inspired by the wishes of the two ladies.

The models were delightful but we cheered loudest for one of our own carers, Pinkie Matthys, who we all agreed was the most beautiful.

A glass of something sparkling set us up for an evening of glamour. As always we were pleased to see the Mayor of Wisbech, a regular visitor to Rose Lodge.

Both Alice and Elizabeth commented on what a lovely evening we had enjoyed. A very worthwhile event appreciated by all.
