Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Coffee With a Firefighter

The home was privileged to welcome the local fire brigade to our coffee with a firefighter community event.

Our Cambridgeshire Fire Brigade met our residents and visitors and spoke about their day to day lives in the fire service and news from the local community whilst enjoying tea and cake together in the home’s café area.

We were also delighted to warmly welcome the Mayor of Wisbech. Councillor Sidney Imafidon, Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and parishioners from the local St. Johns Church.

Our guests enjoyed a selection of freshly prepared cream scones and a variety of cakes prepared by the homes head chef.

Memory Lane Cafe

Staff and residents at the home launched their brand-new community dementia café.

Open to the wider community, friends and family and taking place every first Wednesday of the month from 10.30am – 12pm, residents from within the local community will have a chance to meet and chat over tea or coffee and homemade cakes provided by the home. Guests will also have a chance to take a tour of the home, and ask any questions they might have about care.

Shopping at Tesco

Residents enjoyed an afternoon shopping trip to our local Tesco supermarket. They enjoyed looking around the store and getting ingredients for our baking club. David was very interested in the cheese selection and mentioned that he didn’t realize there were so many different cheeses.

David bought himself some pens and a notepad and paid at the checkout.
Ann bought herself some pyjamas and a bobble hat, and Elizabeth chose some fresh fruit. We all then enjoyed a coffee and chatted about the things we had bought. We couldn’t find one of the ingredients we wanted, but a helpful Tesco staff member showed us where to find what we were looking for.

Home thank Activities team!

Staff and residents at Rose Lodge are celebrating National Activity Providers & Professionals Week, which takes place from January 22-26. Residents and staff wanted to thank the wonderful activities team at the home, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to the lives of the residents living there.

National Activity Providers & Professionals Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different varied activities they provide to residents and patients.  Each and every member of the team at Rose Lodge offer unique, tailored activities and entertainment to the residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this everyone at the home is truly grateful.

Memories and Mocktails

Residents enjoyed a morning of cocktails, mocktails, and reminiscence as they gathered for our home's 'Mocktails and Memories' event.

This special dementia-friendly event brought our residents together to engage in discussions and reminisce over a selection of delicious beverages.

Residents discussed family holiday memories and even entered a hearty discussion about ladies taking control and driving the family car on the longer journeys further afield.
