Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home
Remembrance Day
Leading up to Remembrance day residents had been making there poppy display and making a remembrance cake. Residents enjoyed the cake watching the Remembrance Sunday.
The service honours the contribution of military and civilian servicemen and women in World Wars One and Two, and other conflicts. Thousands of veterans, army personnel and members of the public in the capital joined the rest of the UK in a two-minute silence at 11:00 GMT
Baking Club - National Apple Day
Here at rose lodge we have our baking club once a week for our residents to join in this is something our residents do enjoy . this week we celebrated national apple week so we made some lovely apple turn overs and an apple pie
We chatted about what our residents used to make for their children . we enjoyed peeling our apples and making our pies . we enjoyed theses with a cuppa afternoon tea.
Residents donate hamper to local Food Bank
Residents, and staff members at Rose Lodge Care Home celebrated the Harvest Festival by donating a food hamper to a local charity.
The occasion was also marked with singing of hymns, light refreshments and sharing stories which really helped everyone at the home get into the spirit of the festival.
The Harvest Festival is a celebration of food grown on land and, traditionally, a time for families and communities to get together and bring food to the less fortunate. It dates back to the fifth century, where it was common for the harvest season to be celebrated with a huge feast – and from then the tradition grew and evolved.
World Smile Day
Residents enjoyed celebrating World Smile Day by designing a variety of smiley faces to make others laugh and grin.
World Smile Day serves as a global reminder of the power of a simple smile. It encourages people to engage in acts of kindness, spread goodwill, and embrace positivity. One of our carers came in to help with the activity what a lovely morning we all had.
We hope these incredible craft pieces bring a smile to your faces too. Happy World Smile Day!
A Visit from Emneth Nursery School
What a beautiful morning we had today. Residents really love our special visitors from our local nursery, Emneth Nursery School .
Residents and children really enjoyed our Aqua Paints and matching card game. Both activities are great for cognitive skills and sparking conversations between the two generations.
We had even more to celebrate today as one of our little visitors was celebrating his birthday with us! Our amazing hospitality team and Head Chef made a special birthday cake and we all sang Happy Birthday as it was brought out.
