Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

History Talk With Roger L Rawson

Residents and loved ones enjoyed listening to Roger discuss the changes made to Wisbech over the decades. His beautiful presentation of the old and new combined with his own memories, sparked delightful conversations all day between residents.

Hillary  shared how much the town had changed to what it is now  as well as many others about the sweet shops and seeing the horse and cart.

We'd like to thank Roger for volunteering his time and hosting a beautiful presentation. If anyone would like to support him, he's raising money for the Magas Air Ambulance and you can donate her

Coronation Celebrations

An old fashioned English favourite of fish and chips served in union jack boats was a lunch time delight prepared by our chef. It was a wonderful day which had residents reminiscing about their memories of the late queen and the celebrations of all her jubilee’s and the fantastic pageantry of our royal family. Residents also enjoyed entertainment by KJ & the Catt . The songs they both sang so brilliantly reflected the King and our Great British spirit. Residents enjoyed the morning. We also enjoyed a buffet tea street party lovely food peppered by kitchen staff lovely evening held by all.

Coronation history

Across our services Residents had a wonderful time participating in an interactive virtual talk with Pippa Catterall, Professor of History and Policy at the University of Westminster, where we delved into the rich history of coronations.

During the talk, we explored fascinating topics such as the coronation chair, the crown, and other significant aspects related to King Charles' upcoming coronation. Our residents were thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the memoirs of past coronations from 1937 and 1953, as well as learning about the coronation oath and what to expect from the ceremony, including the music, guests, and pageantry.

Easter at Rose Lodge

Residents and  staff at rose lodge got into the Easter celebrations. Each day we had arts and crafts going on for Easter. We made Easter bonnets, Easter bunny house, Easter wreaths and of course we had an Easter raffle. With all the money raised going to our 'Resident's fund'.

Thank you to Debbie with your arts and crafts.

Incredible eggs

Here at rose lodge we have the incredible eggs; uplifting joyous and magical hatching ducks. We had 5 duck eggs and 4 of them have hatched into lovely ducklings. Residents have been watching the ducklings hatch. They said its amazing that a duck hatched from a small egg. Staff have been holding the ducks. They have grown so quick over the days. Our residents ask every morning "has another duck hatched?"

Easter entertainment

Residents and colleagues at Rose Lodge enjoyed a fun filled weekend to celebrate Easter, we enjoyed a live performance by KJ and the Catt, there was lots of dancing, singing and laughter to be heard throughout the home.  KJ and the Catt are a firm feature in the homes life enrichment programme as very popular with our residents. We look forward to their next performance!
