Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Happy Birthday Jo and congratulations to Don and Danielle!

We have had lots to celebrate here at Rose Lodge Care Home as Jo - our superb Kitchen Assistant received a gorgeous bunch of Flowers as she celebrated her 40th Birthday.

And, celebrations were also in order for Don our amazing Head of Maintenance who was voted Employee of the Month for September! In addition to Danielle from our Care Team for the month of October who, “Always goes above and beyond to make each day special for our residents!”

Thank you so, so much for all hard work from General Manager Meg and all of the home team.

Home Superstars - Ruby and Pat

Meet Ruby and Pat - our 2 home resident superstars here at Rose Lodge Care Home.

Ruby loves to assist staff here at the home and is always busy helping to put clothes away, organising drinks and always wants to lend a helping hand. And so we wanted to celebrate and thank Ruby for all that she does by presenting her with her very own tabard and name badge.

Meanwhile, Pat loves to help our Activities Team with the everyday running of the home and loves to meet and greet our visitors and those coming for an interview too! And so, Pat is now officially our ‘Activities Assistant’ and celebrated with her very own name badge too!

Well done ladies and thank so much for everything that you do from General Manager Meg and all of the team here at the home.

National Alzheimer's Day and Memory Lane grand Opening

Rose Lodge Care has had a lot to celebrate of late with the unveiling of its new Memory Lane Dementia Care Community.

To mark the special occasion the home organised a special Afternoon Tea for the home’s residents, relatives and community friends to coincide with National Alzheimer’s Day.

The community opening marks the completion of a significant investment and extensive refurbishment at Rose Lodge including bright new Lounges, homely Bedrooms and a beautiful Dining Room too! The new community also showcases the very best in interior design for those living with Dementia in turn promoting reminiscence and reflection in a warm and friendly environment that Barchester Healthcare is renowned for.

Megan Jones – General Manager said, “This is a very special moment for all of our residents and team here at Rose Lodge Care Home and we all agreed that National Alzheimer’s Day would be the perfect day to launch our new Memory Lane Dementia Care community. We have had amazing feedback from our current residents and delighted to also have a state of the art Magic Table which is proven to increase physical and social interactions through sensory stimulation and relaxation too!”

Jane Ritchie the Activities Coordinator at Rose Lodge added, “The new community really is stunning and the celebratory Afternoon Tea was such a lovely way to open it as we came together to raise money for National Alzheimer’s Day. I know the whole team and I are very much looking forward to welcoming support groups in and around Wisbech to use our Magic Table. And later in the year we will be welcoming our very own Dementia Care Specialist Deena Heaney MBE to host an Understanding Dementia Care session for our community friends too!”
