Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Alpaca Adventures

On 17th October, we were joined once again by Hurricane and Rocky, who love visiting the residents here at Rothsay Grange. Hurricane is 5 years old and Rocky is 3 years old. Residents had fun stroking and learning wonderful things about them.

For the Love of Music

For the Love of Music

The afternoon of 1st October saw us all having a good ol' sing along. Everyone enjoyed refreshments and massive cupcakes were prepared by our Chefs, Dean and Terry. The day was great and everyone sang along to same classic tunes.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan Coffee Morning

On 28th September, residents at Rothsay had a great afternoon helping to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in their World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

We invited members of the local community along and were also joined by friends and family members for an afternoon of singing, games and refreshments.

Thanks to everyone who joined us!

Pet Therapy

Pet Therapy

On 10th September, we welcomed Willow, who joined us for a morning of cuddles. Willow belongs to Activities Coordinator, Irene, and comes in twice a week to see the residents – she enjoys it as much as they do!

It was lovely to see how happy residents got when they were feeding her and giving cuddles. It's amazing what animals do for residents here at Rothsay Grange. Some residents have little to no vision, so being able to stroke or hold Willow always brings a big smile to their faces.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day

We asked members of the local community to join us in celebrating Grandparents Day. We hosted a big party and were joined by the Salvation Army. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and, as always, our kitchen team made some fantastic refreshments for everyone to indulge in.

Baking Fun

Baking Fun

Residents had lots of fun making some lemon shortbread, with a very delicious outcome. We all had a slice with a cup of tea and we all agreed that they would go well with some ice cream.
