Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home
The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.
Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah
Activities Coordinators
Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.
Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.
Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.
Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.
Celebrating life at Rothsay Grange Care Home

Hilliers Garden Centre Visit
Hilliers Garden Centre Visit, we indulged in a delectable cream tea to treat ourself to a much-needed break. As we savoured a warm scone adorned with clotted cream and strawberry jam, we found myself captivated by the stunning scenery of the garden centre. The peaceful delicate scent of blooming flowers enhanced the tranquil ambiance, creating the ideal setting for relaxation. With each delectable bite and sip, we all felt a wave of contentment wash over us, thankful for the joy that a leisurely afternoon at a garden centre can provide.

Skittles
During the lively skittles game, everyone had a blast trying to knock down the pins with precision and skill. Laughter filled the room as players took turns aiming for the target, each turn met with cheers or groans from the spectators. The competitive spirit was high, yet there was an air of camaraderie as everyone enjoyed the friendly competition.
As the game progressed, smiles could be seen all around, from the elation of a perfect strike to the good-natured teasing of near misses. It was a delightful evening of fun and laughter, bringing friends and family together for a memorable time.
Sensory activities
Our residents had so much fun using their senses to take part in the “Guess That Smell” activity - a sensory challenge filled with laughter and curiosity from fresh herbs to fruity scents.
Everyone was eager to test their noses and share memories linked to familiar aromas. Residents also explored their senses through contact with our new fidget items that have been kindly donated by a member of the public.

Grand Masked Ball
The Grand Masked Ball Dance at Rothsay Grange was a afternoon to remember. The arrival of a new singer named Karen added to the excitement as she mesmerized the guests with her soulful voice. Prosecco was flowing generously, adding a touch of effervescence to the elegant affair. The residents, dressed in their finest attire and ornate masks, couldn't resist the enchanting music and took to the dance floor for a spin or two. Laughter and joy filled the air as they twirled gracefully under the shimmering chandeliers, lost in the magic of the moment. It was an afternoon of revelry and celebration, a perfect blend of elegance and merriment.

A million memories visit
What a great afternoon we had here at Rothsay Grange. Little ponies joined us. The residents and staff were amazed to see them. The benefit of these little beauties for everyone is that they provide psycho-social, emotional and physical needs that can’t always be met by humans. Animals have a way to calm you without doing much.
Not only did they brighten our day up, they gave joy to those that were nursed in bed. These little ponies are so very sweet and gentle they brought smiles to everyone.
Zoolab visit
We welcomed Zoolab to our home along with their selection of exotic animals, from placid giant land snails to deadly spiders.
Residents enjoyed learning about these exotic animals and interacting with them along with the Zoolab staff members who hosted with intensive knowledge.

Happy National Housekeeping Week
We celebrate Housekeeping Week and the incredible team at Rothsay Grange! Their hard work, attention to detail, and dedication keep our home sparkling, safe, and welcoming every single day. We are so grateful for everything they do behind the scenes to make life comfortable for our residents.
What a time we had at our summer fete!
BBQ - double burgers, pulled pork and hot dogs! Stalls from Scentsy wax melts. Emma-Leigh Rahman, Andover Guide dogs.
Shaz Towerton with her crochet, book marker and Moo mugs and lots more. Michelle singing hits that we all knew. Hook a duck and free face painting by Lucy. Belly dancers and the big raffle.
We also had Hana's guinea pigs to cuddle. Thankyou to all that had a stall and all that came to enjoy the sunshine and fun. Staff, residents and visitors had a great time.
To top it all off we also had Zoe's 50th birthday. We sung happy birthday and she received flowers and a bottle of fizzy great day had by all.

Trip into Andover Town Centre
Trips out are always a big hit for our residents. Today we had a trip to town to see the Queen's statue. Then we had a walk round the shops and stopped off at the local coffee shop for refreshments.
The residents enjoyed an afternoon of shopping and fun. One of our residents thought that the queen was very small but thought the statue was very good.
Mayor Visit
What a privilege to be visited by Test Valley Borough Council’s Mayor and Mayoreses Maura and Ian Jeffrey.
Our residents truly enjoyed the conversations, questions, smiles, and stories that they brought.
