Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home
The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.
Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.
Irene & Leah
Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.
Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.
Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.
Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home
Dementia Awareness Week
We marked Dementia awareness week with having a trip out to Milestones Museum in Basingstoke. Residents that came along had a lovely afternoon of reminiscing of years gone by and enjoyed seeing all the old vehicles, shops, streets and memorabilia. Our residents were so pleased that the museum managed to save and restore so many things. We ended the afternoon with a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake in the museums café before returning home.
Cosmic Sparkle!
We welcomed Cosmic Sparkle again to Rothsay Grange on Wednesday 11th May, and what an afternoon it was, lots of singing and dancing from the residents along with the staff, an afternoon of fun was had by all!
Sunday fun in the Sun!!!
Every Sunday we all get together to have our Sunday Social, where we chat, reminisce and share stories, last Sunday on the hottest day of the year we decided to take the social in the garden where our topic was 'Holidays'
Afternoon of Owl fun!
We had a brilliant afternoon meeting two owls from K&H Falconry. One named Alfie who was a Tawny Owl and the other called Manny who was a White faced Scops Owl. All the residents had a lovely afternoon learning about the owls and even getting to hold them.
Music fun with Robin!
Once again we welcomed Robin to the home for an afternoon of music that we could all sing along to.
Bank Holiday Fun!
While everyone was enjoying an extra day off, here at Rothsay we got busy with making paper flowers to decorate our May Pole. The residents enjoyed tea and plenty of cakes whilst chatting about when they were younger and dancing around the May Pole.
