Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Winter Wonderland

The residents had a wonderful time at the air raid shelter café in high Wycombe. They were invited to come and join the winter wonderland party and enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch. Everyone said it was one of the best afternoons they had had.

Christmas Fayre

Our Christmas fayre was a great success. We had a selection of stalls which included  homemade cakes made by our head housekeeper Rachel, handbags, candles, crafts and tombola.

We raised money towards Battersea dogs trust. Residents and their families had an enjoyable afternoon we had warm mulled wine and other festive treats.

Blue Bird Belle

Blue Bird Belle returned on very popular demand on the 28th November and brightened up our day with her amazing beautiful voice. She entertained us with a mixture of popular favourites from the '50s,’60s and ‘70s. All residents enjoyed the show and were singing and dancing along.

Remembrance Sunday

Staff and residents at Shelburne Lodge commemorated remembrance day on Sunday 10th November, where they joined the rest of the United Kingdom in holding a 2 minute silence at 11am.

During the day everyone was wearing poppies and watching the televised service, some residents were taken to the local cenotaph to commemorate the members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty.

They also visited the local air raid café in high Wycombe and met the owner Chris Miller who was thrilled to hear their war stories.

Animal Ark Visited Shelburne

Animal Ark were invited by popular demand, and arrived with plenty of new ‘friends’ for residents to meet and cuddle. The interaction between residents and animals was wonderful to see and we learnt lots of interesting facts. Harry the baby hedgehog turned out to be very popular!
