Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Social Distancing Tea

Residents and staff of Shelburne Lodge celebrated the 5th anniversary of National Tea Day and the Queen’s Birthday. Everyone enjoyed a variety of teas, cakes and biscuits. It brought a cheer throughout the home at this unprecedented time.

,

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Residents at Shelburne Lodge elected to make this rainbow to show their gratitude to the NHS staff. Resident, Dorothy, said it was great taking part in this activity and being able to show our thanks and support to all the wonderful NHS staff and keyworkers.

Keeping in Touch

Due to the current situation and not being able to have visitors here at Shelburne Lodge, residents have been able to keep in touch with their loved ones Over Skype and by writing letters. The residents also received some lovely cards from the children at the church of England Primary School, and have replied with homemade thank you cards. Residents are also involved in the local pen pal scheme, which is beneficial to local school children and themselves at this difficult time.

Mother's Day

Residents were delighted to receive bouquets of flowers and hand-crafted cards from all the staff at Shelburne lodge. It certainly put a smile on all of the mothers' faces!

,

Pancake Day

Residents and families joined us for delicious pancakes with all sorts of toppings to try, and everyone enjoyed the sweet treats.

,

Valentine's Day

Families and loved ones joined us at Shelburne Lodge to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a delicious 3-course meal that was prepared by Head Chef, Alex. The celebrations continued into the afternoon, with entertainment from Helen singing Abbas greatest hits. All the residents had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending this special day with loved ones.
