Activites at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our residents, along with our wonderful team—including our General Manager—enjoyed a delightful trip to Ruislip Lido.

The day was filled with sunshine, laughter, joy, and plenty of fun. From ice cream treats to relaxing cups of coffee, it truly was a memorable outing for everyone! Stay tuned to check where the next trip would be.

Last week, our residents enjoyed a special visit from Performing Pets as part of our monthly pet therapy sessions here at Shelburne Lodge Care Home - Barchester Healthcare.

We welcomed some adorable baby lambs and a sweet French bulldog who brought joy, laughter, and plenty of smiles to everyone! It was a truly amazing day filled with love, cuddles, and happy moments.  

This week, we launched our Friendship Club at the Home, and we are so grateful to everyone who joined us for the first gathering! Your presence made it special, and we're excited to announce that we’ll be meeting monthly. 

So, mark your calendars for next month’s gathering – we can’t wait to see you there! Whether you’re looking to build new friendships or reconnect with old ones, there’s a place for you. Come enjoy great company, live entertainment, and delicious refreshments, freshly prepared by our chef.   

Our amazing residents at Shelburne Lodge enjoyed a unique and sensory experience with herbs! We enjoyed a wonderful time, exploring the sights, smells, taste and textures of various herbs. We are creating our very own herb garden at Shelburne Lodge and look forward to cooking with the herbs soon.

Nothing stopped us from going ahead as planned for our VE Day Party, even the weather, which is not very friendly at the minute, but we have reorganised the whole venue to our vintage café!

We all came together as we honoured and remembered Victory in Europe Day with an afternoon of music, refreshments, and community spirit.

Yesterday, on Good Friday, our wonderful General Manager brought smiles to all our residents by sharing Chocolate Easter Eggs! There was a delightful variety to choose from, making it a sweet and special treat for everyone. 

She wasn’t alone in spreading the joy—she had the help of her amazing team and some adorable Bunny Helpers who made the day even more festive. 

To make the occasion even more special, our amazing Head of Housekeeping, Rachel, used her baking skills, and she baked homemade cupcakes and treats for everyone to share! It truly was a great day filled with kindness, laughter, and Easter cheer.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, filled with laughter, great conversation, and a real sense of community. With delicious drinks and cheerful company, it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon.
