Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Scrabble Club
It was all fun and games at Tennyson Wharf today. Vanda won today’s scrabble match, much to her delight as she has never won before. The trophy was all hers!
Asda Donations
Tennyson Wharf residents were over the moon with the kind selection of donations the local Asda store gave to the home. They included drinks, chocolates, puzzle books, games and lots more. A great way to spread positivity in the home during the pandemic.
National Dog Day
The entries were all in at Tennyson Wharf for 'National Dog Day' There were winners for various categories, including best dressed, most adorable, most characterful. The residents had a great time selecting the winners
Fruit Quiz
It was all smiles at Tennyson Wharf as residents enjoyed an afternoon of fun with a fruits quiz, some trivia & tasting sessions.
90th Birthday Surprise
One of our residents was over the moon as staff surprised her with a freshly baked birthday cake and treats. Pamela was made a fuss of for her 90th Birthday and much deserved.
Play Your Cards Right
Higher or lower? Residents had some fun at Tennyson Wharf, with a game of 'Play your Cards right'
