Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Children in Need
Staff and residents at Tennyson Wharf were having fun as they dressed in their Pyjamas for the day, to help raise money for children in need.
Fireworks Display
Tennyson Wharf recently held its annual firework display within our grounds. The residents enjoyed watching the various fireworks fly off into the night sky. Once finished, everyone enjoy some hot food and drink laid on by the kitchen.
Birds Of Prey
Tennyson Wharf recently had a visit from the flying kind. Derek visited with us with his assortment of birds. These included a Barn Owl and a Falcon. All the residents enjoyed meeting the birds and some were brave enough to hold the Owl.
Remembrance Sunday
Our residents paid their respects to the Fallen on Remembrance Sunday. Tenor Joshua Daniel sang well loved hymns, songs from musicals and various favourites in our cafe area. Residents waved flags and poppies were on sale to raise money for the British Legion.
Halloween
Tennyson Wharf held their annual Halloween party where the staff dressed up for the day. Our residents had a field day carving out their pumpkins and also made various cupcakes ready for Halloween party. It was a day of more treats than tricks!
PAT Dog Vist
Lottie our PAT Dog came to Tennyson Whaf and put a smile on our residents faces. Everyone enjoyed stroking and patting this lovely Cockapoo.
