Activities at Wadhurst Manor Care Home
On a weekly basis we have many visitors to the home from the people like the University of the Third age and local small animal farms, who bring in their chickens and sheep. We also like to go out shopping and on day trips to local garden centres and when the weather is good picnics and tours of the beautiful local countryside. We have speciality days at the home which could be a theme of a country, or for specific times of year, including Halloween, Bonfire Night or Christmas. We have card games and art classes and a serious knitting team in the home who produce blankets and premature baby clothes for the local maternity unit.
Zoe Aldea
Hi, my name is Zoe and I am the Activities Lead at Wadhurst Manor.
I used to work with veterans for the Royal British Legion, and as an Art Studio Lead for a wonderful charity that built a village for people with learning disabilities.
I believe in the healing power of art, I feel strongly about building confidence and the wellness of our residents. My hobbies include Asian art and philosophy, acupuncture, yoga and martial arts. I believe art is a bridge that unites everyone no matter the race, beliefs or religion.

Life at Wadhurst Manor Care Home
Remembrance Day Crafts
Residents created a banner in honour of the fallen and to commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Wadhurst Remembers
Several residents were lucky enough to be part of a great community event organised to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War. The evening of entertainment on 11th November was a great success, with contributions from local groups and performers, which were enjoyed by all.
Mac's 80th Birthday
Mac celebrated his 80th birthday in style, with friends and family all joining in. Mac has been instrumental in helping to set up and support the Wadhurst Manor Choir, so what better way to celebrate than with a choir rehearsal? Later, Mac thanked everyone for his delicious birthday cake and present: a framed collage of photos of his time at Wadhurst Manor.
Halloween Celebrations
We had a fun-filled day celebrating Halloween. Residents and staffed got dressed up and enjoyed a party, dancing the Monster Mash. Our kitchen team produced this very spooky cake, which went down a treat!
Baking Buns
We had a great afternoon making buns ready for afternoon tea.
Marco the Magician
We had a lovely afternoon with Marco the Magician. Despite several residents trying very hard to see how the tricks were done, he managed to amaze us all. The highlight of the afternoon was when he conjured up Tom the rabbit. Residents all enjoyed stroking him, even those who had not made it to the show.
