Activities at Wadhurst Manor Care Home

On a weekly basis we have many visitors to the home from the people like the University of the Third age and local small animal farms, who bring in their chickens and sheep. We also like to go out shopping and on day trips to local garden centres and when the weather is good picnics and tours of the beautiful local countryside. We have speciality days at the home which could be a theme of a country, or for specific times of year, including Halloween, Bonfire Night or Christmas. We have card games and art classes and a serious knitting team in the home who produce blankets and premature baby clothes for the local maternity unit.

Zoe Aldea

Activities Lead

Hi, my name is Zoe and I am the Activities Lead at Wadhurst Manor.

I used to work with veterans for the Royal British Legion, and as an Art Studio Lead for a wonderful charity that built a village for people with learning disabilities.

I believe in the healing power of art, I feel strongly about building confidence and  the wellness of our residents. My hobbies include Asian art and philosophy, acupuncture, yoga and martial arts. I believe art is a bridge that unites everyone no matter the race, beliefs or religion.

Wadhurst Community Choir

Wadhurst Community Choir amazed folks at Wadhurst Manor with a fantastic performance and a variety of songs. Everyone got involved by either joining in with the singing or tapping and shaking on percussion instruments.

More Music Therapy

What an amazing afternoon we had! Several relatives joined us for a wonderful afternoon of singing, dancing and lots of laughter. The quote of the afternoon came as we were singing, "Take me back to The Black Hills, The Black Hills of Dakota, to the beautiful Indian country that I love,” when a resident turned round and said, "not if you have an arrow in your chest," and we all couldn't stop laughing.

Flower Power

Residents made the most of the lovely weather by creating beautiful flower arrangements to decorate the garden with.

Meet Bailey

Meet Bailey

Bailey the Labrador popped in to say a big hello to residents. They thoroughly enjoyed her company and were thrilled to be able to take her for a walk around the garden. Most agreed that no walk was complete without a canine companion to share it with!

Ronnie and Tony

Ronnie and Tony

Ronnie, our Pet Therapist here at the home and one of the residents, Tony, have built up a great relationship and Tony now helps walk Ronnie in the garden.
