Activities at The Warren Care Home
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.
Kirstie Bush
My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home
Trip out to the Sainsbury Centre for visual Arts
We had a person centred outing to the Sainsbury Centre. The residents we took loved art and therefore was their request to go to our local art collection. We enjoyed lunch at the Café there too as well as a look around the beautiful grounds of the University of East Anglia…Cultural and educational too.
Easter Cake Making & Easter Afternoon tea
We had such fun making and decorating our Easter Cake. Our residents love being able to do what they used to enjoy so much, here is Shirley making a wonderful job of decorating the cake, she said “I used to make cakes with my boys and we loved licking the spoon afterwards, it was their favourite part”. Afterwards we had a Easter Afternoon tea with the loved ones, was so nice to have a really Warren Community Spirit.
Gentleman’s Games Club
Gentleman’s Club started off well with Billiards, Air Hockey, Table Football and Shut the box were played. One residents son joined in and played along with his Dad, they had a great Father and Son afternoon. Next time we will take them to the pub for a pint too maybe.
PAT Dog and Pancakes
Had a flipping good day, not only was it Shrove Tuesday but we were visited by our PAT Dog Daisy and her owner Len. Her visits are invaluable and she brings so much joy to the residents. We then looked pancakes to order after lunch, they went down a treat.
Love is in the air for Valentine’s Day
We made some amazing decorations for Valentine’s Day. We made Vintage Hearts and gave them to other residents to hang in their room.
They were so easy to make and looked stunning and the ladies loved going through the vintage magazines and papers looking at all the old adverts too.
Burns Night!!
Today we celebrated #burnsnight2024 . We decorated the dining room and tables, played Scottish songs and our chef Kevin made the most delicious traditional Scottish meal. With Cock a leekie soup, Haggis, neeps and tatties, topped with a whisky cream sauce. For dessert a cranachan which was nothing short of moreish and amazing.
