Life at Westgate House Care Home
Birthday Celebrations
We had an amazing day celebrating one of our residents birthday at the home recently with our head chef baking a special birthday cake for the day. Staff also decorated her room and her son also came long to join in with the celebrations and fun. Happy Birthday!
Bentley & Harley
We had a lovely visit from Bentley and Harley - the Dachshund puppies, they are only five months old. It was a great pet therapy for our residents. They had lots of fun with them and put a smile on everyone’s face. Our Activities Coordinator, Kelly Meadows brought them in as they belong to her mum.
Musical Hats
Here at Westgate House we tried out a new activity, called 'Bag of Hats'. It is a music and hats activity where each hat has a matching well known song, e.g “The Sun Has Got His Hat On”. The residents really enjoyed trying on different hats and singing along too.
Christmas wrapping
Westgate Countdown to Christmas, residents participate in putting decoration on the Christmas as well as wrapping presents for under the Christmas trees. Residents made Christmas cards to send home to their loved ones. You can see the face expression on the residents face when the light turn on.
