Activities at Wilton Place Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Wilton Place Care Home

Game On!
The latest trip out on the Wilton Place minibus was along the Wilton Road to Salisbury Golf Centre.
What a great session the ladies had on a beautiful sunny day, hosted by helpful and friendly Chloe.
Award for best shots went to Janet, most improved player was Ann.......... Mary couldn’t wait to tell her son where she had been as he played there and was a captain at one time too!
Here at Wilton Place, we encourage our residents to continue with their hobbies and interests and discover new ones.

Tea with the Ponies
Last Friday Wilton Place residents boarded the minibus in anticipation of some animal therapy. A special trip out, just one of activities planned for this week by Fiona Long, our Activities Coordinator.
Up the hill to the stables they went to enjoy afternoon tea and time with the ponies at Wilton Riding for the Disabled Association RDA.
Heather took great delight in encouraging the ponies smiles and left with a 'pony' mug souvenir for her collection.
Janet remarked on how gentle the ponies were.
A delicious afternoon tea rounded off the visit nicely.
Here at Wilton Place, we encourage our residents to continue with their hobbies and interests and discover new ones.

Charity Tea Party
We recently hosted an Afternoon tea to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Now. We had a wonderful afternoon filled with fun and yummy cake. Residents, family, friends and staff joined together and raised £216 for the very worthy charity.
We look forward to supporting them at future events.

Bird Watching with a Brew
A recent visit to Langford Lakes was well received by Wilton Place ladies, they were able to enjoy tea and cakes whilst doing a spot of bird watching and learning about the local flora and fauna.

Yorkshire Fat Rascals
To recognise Yorkshire Day, our Barchester bakers worked together to make Fat Rascals. These iconic cakes are similar to rock buns and are sold in Betty’s Tearooms in Harrogate.
We mixed, whisked, zested and decorated and the finished products were delicious and enjoyed by all.

English Wine Tasting
Resident, Families and Friends enjoyed an evening spent discovering a selection of English wines including a delicious red from Lacock.
Accompanied by a range of English snacks including homemade sausage rolls, mini Cornish pasties, Jersey potatoes and cheese, courtesy of the Wilton Place's hospitality team.
Once again Paula from local Wilton company, Ways with Wine, shared her knowledge and enthusiasm.
One resident said they had a fabulous evening and would definitely buy English wine in the future.
Only problem is we can’t decide which country to taste next!
