Activities at Wilton Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Bake it Yellow

A wonderful afternoon raising funds for Marie Curie. We took part in their 'Bake it Yellow' event in support of the 'Great Daffodil Appeal'.

Brightly decorated in Yellow the Home looked inviting and uplifting. With Neil on guitar, singing all our old favourites the afternoon went with a swing as we welcomed local community, friends and families.

Head Chef Hayley had done us proud with a selection of yellow themed goodies to enjoy together.

Cake and dancing, two of our residents favourite things!

Twitching Time

Did you know our home has a minibus to take residents on trips? Trips such as visits to Salisbury Cathedral, Compton Abbas Airfield, Wilton Garden Centre, The New Forest, The Fox and Goose at Coombe Bissett, River Bourne Community Farm and many more. This weekend we took a jaunt out to Langford Lakes. Ian, a keen Ornithologist recorded the species he spotted in his notebook. The lovely staff at the nature reserve kindly lent us their binoculars. Residents commented on how wonderfully relaxing it was listening to the wildlife and being close to water. Can you spot the Great Blue Heron? It's an absolute pleasure to enable our residents to continue with their hobbies and explore new ones too!

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and here at Wilton Place we recognised this important day in several ways. The art and craft group created beautiful Lent crosses, there was an Ash Wednesday service and we talked about what we might be giving up. No-one suggested our homemade cakes!

Exercise Energises!

Exercise at Wilton Place has always been an important part of our weekly activities sessions. It is so important for our residents to keep moving as much as possible, through walks around the home or just small movements now and then. Donna Marie from Donna Marie Fitness, regularly visits Wilton Place and always delivers a great session of chair based exercises that many of our residents look forward to. District Sports Coaches Tom and Callum also deliver various opportunities for residents to join in with and stay active. The sessions are always fun, beneficial and a great way for our residents to engage with each other whilst keeping fit.
