CEO of Barchester Healthcare Recognised for Outstanding Leadership for 2nd Year Running

Dr Pete Calveley, CEO of Barchester Healthcare, was recently awarded The HealthInvestor Power Fifty Outstanding Leader prize at the HealthInvestor Power Fifty 2019 Awards for the second year in a row. Pete was nominated by his peers, One stated ”Pete Calveley is the best Chief Executive in the sector. He combines leadership with attention to detail, which few CEOs achieve.”

The HealthInvestor Power Fifty celebrates the most effective and inspiring leaders across six key aspects of independent healthcare. The sector’s most influential leaders have been split into their areas of expertise and then they were ranked via an anonymous ballot by the other members of the HealthInvestor Power Fifty.

Now in its eleventh year, the HealthInvestor Power Fifty is one of the most established awards in the health and social care calendar. For over a decade, the event has brought together the leading individuals in the sector for an evening of celebration, contention and vigorous debate over the shortlist.

Pete Calveley said of his award that “it’s wonderful to be honoured in this way for the second time, and I’d like to say a big thank you to those who voted for me. Good leadership comes with having great teams around you. This award recognises the work of all of the staff at Barchester who work tirelessly to deliver great care for our residents. I am proud that Barchester has the highest care rating we’ve ever had, with 84% of homes rated good or outstanding, and I look forward to maximising our growth opportunities next year with our extensive expansion programme of new builds”.
