Barchester Healthcare's Newest Home in Sherborne Reaches Topping Out Stage

A new care home development in Sherborne celebrates a major milestone with a recent topping out ceremony. The occasion marked the completion of the latest stage of the 64-bed care home, as it enters the final 6 months of construction.

The new home, officially named Trinity Manor Care Home, has been built by Acheson Construction Ltd, and is owned and operated by Barchester Healthcare. The home will provide residential and dementia care for older people in the community of Sherborne, and is set to open its doors to residents for the first time in December 2019.

The luxury new home will feature private dining areas, summer and drinks lounges, a large terrace, a life skills kitchen, an activities room with interactive, multi-sensory dementia facilities, a cinema room, en-suite bedrooms with smart TVs, spa bathrooms, in house hair salon, and Wi-Fi available in all parts of the home. The home is near to the centre of town, and is within walking distance of Sherborne station, Sherborne Museum and Sherborne Abbey.

Sue Monger, the General Manager for the home, said: "The topping out ceremony brings us a step closer to the day we welcome residents. I would like to thank everyone locally for the warm welcome we have already received and look forward to extending our hospitality to the local community when our Marketing Suite opens in August for anyone who might have questions about care.”

Acheson Construction Manager Nigel Custard commented: “We were delighted to reach such a significant stage in the build process today. It was a pleasure to share the occasion with our project partners Barchester Healthcare. We look forward to handing over the Marketing Suite in the next few months which will allow finished aspects of the care home to be showcased.”

Mark Bennett, the Director of Property Services at Barchester said, “The home is really coming together. The design of the home will not only allow our operational colleagues to provide the best level of care for the residents who live there, but also ensure the residents are able to live dignified lives in surroundings that allow them to be as independent as they choose to be.”

Trinity Manor Care Home in Sherborne will open in December 2019 and will deliver personalised residential care as well as personalised dementia care in Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Community.
