Barchester previews new care home overlooking Burton Waters marina
The newly appointed General Manager of Tennyson Wharf Care Home in Burton Waters is delighted to offer locals a glimpse of the new care home currently under construction on Park Lane.
Debra Owen, who was recently announced as the new General Manager, was joined by Councillor Malcolm Parish for the official opening of the information suite at Tennyson Wharf on 9th December.
Former Councillor Imghard Parrott, who officiated at both the ground breaking and topping out ceremonies, also attended along with members of the local community.
Festive entertainment was provided at the event by local singers, The Springline Choir, led by Shirley May Dickinson, who sang Christmas carols as guests enjoyed seasonal refreshments.
The information suite was fitted out by Barchester’s team of expert interior designers and gives the local community an opportunity to see what the finished 60-bed care homewill look like. The information suite features two homely bedrooms with Marina views, a dining area, living room, and a life-skills kitchen all designed with future residents in mind.
Debra Owen, General Manager said: “Our information suite is a wonderful way for people to see the type of high quality environment that we are creating here at Tennyson Wharffor the residents we will be caring for and the staff we will employ. It’s also a great way to say ‘hello’ to the local community and we encourage people from the local area to pop in for a cup of tea.”
Information is available and one of the team at Tennyson Wharf will also beable to answer any questions and discuss the care options which will be available when the home is ready to welcome residents from late February 2015 onwards.
