Barchester is a Sunday Times best company to work for
National care home provider Barchester Healthcare is delighted to make 21st place in the Sunday Times survey of the 25 Best Big Companies to Work For 2013, nestled between Boots (20th) and Hilton Hotels UK (22nd).
The high-ranking award was voted for by randomly selected members of Barchester staff that completed anonymous questionnaires. The company has more than 17,000 employees and has an excellent reputation for providing high quality person-centred care to more than 10,000 residents in more than 200 locations. The company is still the only care provider to make the list.
The breakdown of the results showed that Barchester came 11th overall for personal growth as the company has its own business school to help develop its employees and 78 percent of those surveyed felt that work is an important part of their life.
Mike Parsons, Founder and Chief Executive of Barchester Healthcare, accepted the prestigious award, and said: “Barchester is a company that puts heart and hospitality into its care homes. This can only be done by employing and developing dedicated staff that in turn, create great care environments to live and work in. Our ethos at Barchester is ‘Celebrating Life’ and it’s clear that our employees bring this to life every day and enjoy working here.”
