A chocolate day... in support of International Nurses' Day
Barchester Healthcare is celebrating the wonderful work its nurses do throughout the UK by sending every Barchester care home and hospital a big box of chocolates to share together this International Nurses’ Day.
Barchester Healthcare’s nurses have an important role in ensuring that residents receive the best quality care daily. Their approach is person-centred and with a variety of complex care needs to attend to, their expertise and dedication is crucial to delivering excellent services.
Barchester Healthcare’s Director for Quality and Clinical Governance, Trish Morris-Thompson, is proud of the 2500 nurses for Barchester Healthcare, and said: “Our nurses have big hearts here at Barchester. They know the residents who live in their care well. One day they might need to spot the changes in a dementia resident’s behaviour that could indicate another underlying care need, and the next they will be holding the hand of a person, and helping them out of bed to take breakfast in the dining room.
“To show our appreciation of the great job our nurses do, we want to help celebrate this hard working and incredible profession on International Nurses’ Day by giving everyone a big box of chocolates to enjoy together.”
Registered Nurses also form bonds with the relatives of each individual in their care. They understand the difficulties that relatives and friends may face when someone close to them moves in to a care setting. They work hard to ensure that positive relationships are developed, so that family and friends feel supported.
