Silver awards for Barchester staff in Wales

Two caring women who work for Barchester Healthcare in Wales were delighted to receive silver awards at the Wales Care Awards 2015 for the difference they make to the lives of others.

Busisiwe Zuma, a nurse at Hafan Y Coed Care Home in Llanelli won a silver award in the ‘Outstanding Service’ category. Kath Thomas, Administrator at Llys Y Tywysog Care Home in Swansea won a silver award in the ‘Commitment to Quality in Housekeeping & Hospitality’ category.

The Wales Care Awards celebrate the outstanding individuals who work in the care sector in Wales and raise awareness of the vital contribution these people make to society. This year the awards were held at Cardiff City Hall on 6th November.

Lucy Owen from BBC Wales News compered the evening and singer Sioned Terry gave a classical performance to open the ceremony.

Andy Lunt, Divisional Director at Barchester Healthcare said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and wonderful seeing Barchester’s own stars awarded for their achievements and commitment to social care.”
