Woodland View is winning name for new care home
The name of the new care home on Turner Road in Colchesterhas been chosen through a naming competition launched within the local community and the winning entry is Woodland View.
Local charity, Dancing Giraffe, is the lucky winner and received £500 for suggesting the name. The name was selected as the new care home is located next to High Woods Country Park, which is one of Colchester’s top scenic spots.
The £500 cheque was presented to the Director of Dancing Giraffe, Susan Pattrick at a naming ceremony held on 27th April at Woodland View.
Mark McDonald, General Manager at Barchester’s Woodland View Care Home said: “Congratulations to Dancing Giraffe for winning the naming competition. The charity does a lot of excellent work for the benefit of local people living with a disability and we are delighted to present £500 to such a worthy cause.”
“At Barchester we pride ourselves on building excellent relationships within the local community and our new home is no different. We are also keen to speak with people looking for a career in the social care sector as a home of this size creates about 100 jobs and we offer great development opportunities as a top employer.”
Woodland View Care Home will provide high-quality residential, nursing and respite care to older people, and specialised dementia care in their dedicated Memory Lane Community.
The show suite will open this May and will provide further information about the personalised care and rooms available. For more information call 01206 932312 or visit www.barchester.com.
